I was going to use Oakenfold, Holloway or Rampling but more hip-replacement than hip plus don't we all wish we were banging Taylor Swift?

No, he's a Wellington United player as it stands. No out clearance on the Cap Football for him yet, although that won't be an issue as this is a friendly.

All I know is he has been up here in Auckland training with ACFC for the past couple of weeks I think they're just sorting out paperwork at the moment.

Don't think the window opens until October 1

Hope Bucketman's bucket plus accessories will be allowed entry.

I suppose that should extend to Blanket Man's blanket too (unless it is an LFC blanket).

I'm torn for this one it's my two favourite NZ clubs. Not expecting much from ACFC today though being their first game of pre season.

I'd settle for Taylor Regan.

Looks like we have a trailist - presumably a CB? Danoskos. Will he be as good as Astroklaus?

I assume it's Troy Danoskos from Sydney Olympic. If he's any good, he will be able to slot into the 'Mature Age Rookie' spot outside the salary cap as he is over 21. (23 I believe?)

Ah okay. Not as needed as a CB, but any reinforcements in defence would be good.

Apparently Arnold decided not to sign him for Sydney after extended trials last year.

Phoenix XI vs Auckland City: Moss Bonevacia Sarpong Rodriguez McGlinchey Riera Fenton Lia Krishna Durante Danaskos.

Trialist with a goal..wont do him any harm. Doesn't sound like the defending aspect is going so great for either team though!

Danoskos played well, good work rate. Sarpong needs more training with the team. Highlight was Duras diving header and Dimaraio goal in the wrong goal.

How good would it be for NZFC to actually publicise this a bit like the Charity Shield and put it on the tele? Make it the ASBP winner v the 'Nix, get a sponsor, get a shield or cup or something and have it televised with a bit of build up each year...

Would be great. Would also help for Auckland's future A-League bid :)

A-Rod looks like he's beefed up a bit.

A centre back pairing of Lia and Manny doesn't inspire confidence.

Riera cleaning out Lia was pretty funny.

I hope we play better in a couple of weeks when the games will matter.
