2015/16 Transfer Speculation

The question is not whether A-Rod has had a pass mark this season. The question is, can we rebuild the team or next season if we just replace Sarpong with a better foreign player? It also depends what Australians/New Zealanders are on the market. If we can sign a good Australian who plays A-Rod's position then you would probably prefer to spend his visa spot somewhere it is more needed.

Sarpong is contracted next year so unless we buy him out (which falls under the cap, but maybe we can put it under the cap this year?) or he leaves by mutual consent we are stuck with him. So ideally we would play him in his proper position and rejig the team around that, or we make him work.

Juggle things.  Put Sarpong as marquee and a la Koren release outside cap.

Will the Koren rule apply to teams outside of Melbourne or Sydney?

Make sure Glenn Moss is resigned and given a bonus. Without decent Gk the Nix are another goal per game down. 3-1 sounds better than 4-1.

From a player development point of view for the national team. At least Glenn never gets a chance to get rusty. Always in the action.

He is already on contract for next season (assuming licence extension)

How far away are Reira and Krishna from not being visa players anymore?  I thought Reira was going to be sorted for next season so there is a foreign slot there (if that's correct)

Pretty sure Krishna only started the process when he joined the nix so a couple of years yet for him if that's the case. Hopefully Rierra can be fast tracked if he won't get it next season he would have been in nz for over five years over the age of twenty so eligible for the all whites with a passport.

I wouldn't give him a bonus. There are two really good keepers waiting on the bench and in the reserves. Obviously id prefer Moss, but not if we have to pay him a premium.

Moss is a good A league keeper. A long way from the best A league keeper.  Generally does an efficient and effective job.  Not much more than that.

At the very least if he got a pro contract he might be able to afford a haircut

People say Italiano is good but the game he played for the first team he looked really shaky.

Italiano was absolutely sharke in his first start, but I remember him being quite good in his 2nd.

I watched him live v City (?) or Victory, can't remember, and he was pretty poor then though.

It's a shame that Rufer got injured because I felt like he was just starting to develop into a decent midfielder.

why Ernie hasn't delved into the Transfer market this window is beyond me. Seems like every other team has. Poor from the coach and Management.

Despite what we have been told (spin) I think we all know and understand why that hasn't happened.

Frankly if we do get our extension and the club dosnt allow Ernie to go to the market and replace some of our ageing team. Then they will have buggar all chance of meeting the metrics that will be set.Its plainly obvious that as good as some of the young talent are they are kidding themselves if they think filling the team with them will  work.

Time for the spin BS to stop nearly all the other clubs are able to find players yet we struggle time and again.Yes we get the occasional one that comes off. They want to compete then im afraid they are going to have to open the wallets.Otherwise why even bother because im sure there are many like me who are thoroughly sick  of the belly up displays that have featured far to often then the BS excuses that follow afterwards.

No point in spending money for injury replacements when this season is already over. It's clear that's what is the mood with the club is. It seems like season has ended up being purely about getting the licence sorted. Ernie is already talking about next season's signings ffs

Yeah sadly all we seem to get is some sort of spin or excuse, frankly sick of hearing next season is going to be the one.Thats been passed off to us far to often.

Surely it's worth a punt on a couple of ASBP players as injury replacements for Rufer and Krishna though. From my understanding insurance pays for them so it wouldn't cost us a thing, and it would effectively be an extended trial for them while giving us a few more options off the bench

if the club and the supporters think the season is over and it is wait for next season, what should i do, should i save my money for next season like people think the club are doing or should i spend another $600.00 (6 home games left) travelling to wellington to support my team ?

Yeah except this time it's a pretty good excuse, what player (keeping in mind it's their career) would sign for a team that might not be around next season? It's obviously affecting recruitment and must be in the minds of the players.

The thing is this the fans showed passion and resolve for the club, the club is not doing the same. If you perform bad then you aren't going to generate the season ticket sales for the next year, and you're going to struggle to attract players.

If you were a player that had two identical offers one from a team who's last four seasons where 10,9,4,10 and another from a team that actually performs you would choose the team that performs.

Show some intent, make a statement, do  something ffs.

fudgeing A

And if the license issue is stopping us signing players then can someone in the club just say that publicly? I know we don't want to jeopardise our future with the FFA by complaining about them publicly, but saying the uncertainty is hampering recruitment isn't a big deal surely? If you want crowds to keep turning up and people to keep tuning in then at the very least you can let them know why they are watching what they are watching.

As it stands our onfield performances are so bad that it's playing into FFA hands. Losing and playing like shark aren't ways to increase metrics

Just another excuse to add to a large bag of excuses that have been used over the years.Im with Ryan in what he says above,Would be nice if the club showed the same commitment as many of the fans have shown.Which im afraid you cannot say they have done.
