Micah Lea'alafa the 'Solomon Islands Messi'. Sign him up!

That is rumoured but yesterday vs Team Wellington he was very easily handled by Fergus Neal and Anthony Hobbs.  Worried it could go very Totori.  We need a more proven option.

Agreed. Have to remember than even Krishna took a season or so to settle in. If we want to do something this season, we need to sign a Nutwhacker-esque player in ASAP.

or loan someone (striker) from some non playing godforsaken iced over northern hemisphere team who wants 2 months in the sun.  More pious hope than speculation of course ;>)

any retired former EPL players we can bring in for a guest stint? Preferably someone who hasn't played in over a year.

Hamish Watson?

Would provide a different option up front.

Don't see why not with Watson, knows the setup AND will be doing a solid for TW.

Yes, the 'Nix signing HBUs top goal scorer will be doing TW a favour.

Tade still looks like the best striker in the ASB

That's a sad indictment on the state of defenders considering he is playing more as an AM these days cause he is very slow.

Grumpy old bastard alert

That may be the first time (post Tezza) I've seen the words lucrative and Phoenix appear in the same sentence.

At least we're trying. It'll be hard to attract players with license negotiations still up in the air and our season waning though.

If he wanted 2 million as Merick said on the radio then he would have turned down any club, license negotiations or not. No one in the A-League is going to pay that much for him.

May as well shut this down unless it is for 16/17 season ;>)

Tommy Oar has left Ipswich after failing to settle in England, and wanting to be 'closer to home'.

If I'm not mistaken we had previous interest in him before signing Sarpong.

Yes please. Almost-perfect replacement for Krishna; though he's never scored as many goals.

Believe we were quite strongly linked to him during pre-season. For memory, the word was we offered him a million.

Worth signing for the potential "O for Oarsome" banner alone

Though if he has trouble settling into England then Wellington probably isn't much better!

I would not say that he is a like-for like Krishna replacement (except being an injury replacement for Krishna).  From what I've seen of him at Brisbane Roar before he went to Holland in 2010, he is a younger and faster McGlinchey.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Krishna definitely has a lot more physicality and directness

Krishna doesn't just score more goals, he scores a sharkload more goals. Oar only has 9 in 152 career games. Still I think that he would be a good pickup. Would probably contribute a lot more to the team than Sarpong for a start

Perfect signing for us, Not a Striker.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

As 4-5-1 does not seem to work well maybe we should accept the revolutionary 4-6-0 formation is our future and work on it.

QPR have been playing that formation at home all this season with crap results as the outcome. They play 6-4-0 "away". Please dont do it Ernie.

Vukovic might have a better goals/games ratio than Moss but it's still not great. We should bring José Luis Chilavert out of retirement to keep for us

Or get him in as a striker. Can't do any worse than what we have now.
