I actually don't hold the likes of Smith and Reid not wanting to play for us against them anymore because of the incompetence and amateur nature of the organisation. If this is the case, why sign him to pro papers then? Why not offer that to Joel Stevens, whom seems to have the goods, and leave Rogerson in the Weenix off contract (ala Blake and Dimairo)?
I just find it odd that the Phoenix sign a player that is not up to it and the player that it, is playing more and they probably shoulda signed.
I suspect that as Rogerson is 17 and Stevens 21 one was considered more the long term prospect.
