Quite frankly, I'm sick of the off-season. I'll take anything, anything! Just get the Nix back on the tele! (Please Sky?)

In unrelated news, I may be going somewhat bat-shark crazy.

Whats the squad... being a one off game I imagine we have only taken a likely playing squad plus a few extra for numbers.

Only players I know of going for sure is Durante and Jack-Henry Sinclair.

Why? We have to try to win every game, that's is what you have to do as a champion. It's also an opportunity to get games before the season start. FFA Cup, Beijing, I hope they take this serious to develop their game.

Didnt they just hire a new media person? Post the damn touring squad

For a team with such a long off season and in such a need for season ticket holders I have always been concerned about the lack of visibility during the off season.

I would hope but doubt there is a marketing plan for this downtime to keep the team in the papers at least once per week.

Haven't seen evidence of it however.

There has been a story a week in the paper/on Stuff though. There was one on Finkler arriving, then last week one about Kosta, now there's an interview with Ernie about the salary cap

yeah I would say there has been about a story a week, sometimes more. Kosta and Finkler signings, interviews etc with Kosta, Nix link with China and of course going there preseason. They've been in the news quite a lot more than usual for an offseason.

Isn't our game in Beijing supposed to be at the "Birds Nest" stadium? As of yesterday the Manchester United v Manchester City game was called off in Beijing over the unfit nature of the surface following recent heavy rain. I hope the safety of our players is treated in a similar way if the pitch is as bad as suggested.

Game will be played at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium which is a different facility. Pics of the team training at the ground on FB, pitch looks perfect.

No broadcast coverage anywhere of the game, so zero chance of a live stream unfortunately.

How do the Phoenix make money from this match? 30 or so tickets to Beijing probably isn't that cheap while having no TV revenue to gain from and only a percentage of ticket sales?

Exactly what I've been thinking.  I hope it translates well to the season.

I'll be feeling a hell of a lot better about our chances if we sign a couple of defenders
