2018-19 Season Fixtures

Draw for last season was released this time last year.

Anyone heard anything juicy about this seasons fixture list?

It'll probably include an unscheduled period of angst and fear over our future.

That's all the goss I have.

This is what we know:

Season starts 19 October
Two breaks for FIFA Windows: 12-20 November and 18-26 March
Finals start in May with the Grand Final to be held on the weekend of 18/19 May, 2019.
No break for the AFC Asian Cup during January

Did I hear something about Westpac Stadium being closed for a month or two during this season? What time period would that be over? I guess we can be expecting a home-away game or two around that period.

Travelling Circus 2019 - Nix to finance Basin Reserve Lights 

We are away to Jason hicks and the Bentleigh Greens in the FFA Cup. 

Thanks RR. I see he only made the move a couple of weeks ago - mid season. 

Now the Socceroos have been knocked out of the FIFVAR World Cup, it must be time for some fixtures

Wonder what kinda crowd they are gonna draw at $15 for adults.

Very small. When they were selling $10 tickets to proper A League fixtures in the previous 2 seasons. For a side that has not signed anyone significant.......

Pretty sure they charge $10 for Central League games over there and they usually get a decent crowd. 

Should be a fiver and try and get as many people along as possible given the current environment.

Yes, this is a time where the club should be trying to win fans back and preseason is the time to do it. Have sit on the fence fans keen to attend a proper A League fixture. 

Its a nothing game at the start of preseason with barely a squad... I wonder who made the call to charge that. May have nothing to do with the NIX as I would assume all funds go to the club team.

didn't they get 3000 last time the Phoenix played there and they were charging $15-$20 bucks?

I paid $10 last 2 times I’ve gone over there. But they were Chatham cup matches. 

really? I was at one of those Chatham Cup games and I only paid $5, I would definitely had a gripe if it was $10 (ie same as an ISPS premiership game at TW)

Pre-season so far as I can work out:

17th July = 'rapa
July = Beijing
4th Aug = Singapore u23/Glory
7th Aug = Bentleigh
19th Oct = A-League Starts

We couldn't have drawn many more difficult NPL teams, Bentleigh are among the best, they did defeat Perth Glory of course last FFA Cup.

They will be a good team, but they haven't bet an A-League team before. Last year they won against another NPL team in penalties then lost 4-0 to WSW in round of 16. There best run was 2014 where they made the semis betting other NPL teams before meeting an A-League team and that years runner up Perth Glory and losing 3-0.

I'm a Nix fan, was just preparing everyone for dissapointment.

As it's pre-season, can we include trialists in FFA Cup games, or are we restricted to using players we've signed?

Pretty sure we can unless it's changed - we subbed on Marowa vs WSW

He was with the WeeNix last winter so not so much a triallist.
