GET YOUR SHIRTS OFF FOR THE BOYS
i was screaming my head off the whole game and felt like bit of a loner...lucky i was pissed i suppose
Who's forcing you to go to Four Kings? If you don't like it, you don't have to go.
It's BD's business, and it's up to him to run it the way he wants to. It seems to me that the bar's been very successful since the opening, so looks like Big Dunc's lot more on to it than you two.

sure anyone can do what they want with their bar but as someone who had a projector as home viewing for almost a decade i disagree they cant have a great picture. its a combination of the technology, the location and the lighting

Can see the picture easily. But with having 70 screens at 4 kings the size issue really isn't an issue. I personally feel that more screens is better than one big screen.

this 'older' person really enjoyed watching cyclists tight lycra packaged glutes working hard in actual size

As a self proclaimed expert in this area....I don't know of any bar in NZ that could afford a fit out by Barco. Believe me, I get to play with Barco projectors on a daily basis and they rock, but a curved widescreen blended set up like the one at the Gaylord is a $100K rig on its own.
There are plenty of bars in Welli with big screens, and if thats your preference then thats where you should head to drink and watch your footie. FourKings doesn't have a single large screen, but has multiple viewing points of many channels and sports, which is different from the old school norm but has proven to be very popular.
I enjoy it there, love the atmosphere on game nights and admire what BigDunc, Jose and the boys have done in their support of sport and especially their support of the Nix and Yellow Fever.
It's under threat of move to angst.

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

High number of new fans present who are less likely to chant + regular fans being unable to get in due to high numbers/fire safety regulations + many usual attendees in Sydney. Regular season is better. Was still an awesome night and there is still no better place to watch televised sport in NZ!
Oh - and IIRC, the Backbencher has a projector. That might be an option for those who prefer to watch it that way, although I'll be sticking with the Kings

Personally, and Ive only been there once, and I found the multiple screens a bit off putting. Funny that because when I go to a venue with a big screen to watch sport , I tend to watch a smaller LCD or plasma because I enjoy the clarity more. It might be just me because I find too many close to each other distracting. I did watch parts of the WC replay upstairs on one of the spread apart plasmas, so 4 K does offer that option.
Unless I was really enamoured with the big screen concept, I would choose a viewing venue based on atmosphere, support for [in this case the Nix] and where my mates might be. I came to Wellington for the Bahrain game and spent my pub time at the 4 Kings never regretted it either great venue.
