Me, will be there with better half in tow (if she wants to...)

EDIT: Hang on, that makes me sound whipped, should read like, I will be there regardless, and she will be if she wants to tag along...

More like it...

I'll be there.  Suppose there's some dead rubber to watch first, was hoping for a good decider but that's not to be.

I'll be there... not sure about the attire tho - clearly home game standards can't apply due it not being a home game (derrrrr) so... what to do??? Jinx much?

lol I'm still surprised I own NIX gear. My only other ever sporting attire is my Wayne Gretzy ice hockey shirt which I will have till I'm 100. I had great problems as a goth trying to find white clothing for the Bahrain game. And I'm not wearing yellow to SFBH or Sammies

Nope. The Wellingtonian article yesterday said the council wasn't going to.

So the 4 Kings will be packed to the rafters & more then.

I think Wongo was asking if the Kings was putting a screen on, not the council, but I'm pretty sure big Dunc would have let us know if they were.  Street closure costs a bomb too, not sure it would work out financially for this game, especially since it's not in WLG so they don't have the extras milling about town after the game.

Hope it's a cold night - it was a sauna down there for teh AW-Mexico game!

It pisses me off how 4 kings is supposed to be a sports bar but they don't have a big screen. It's more like being in an appliance store trying to choose a new TV. I don't want to watch the game on twenty tiny screens right next to each other, I want to watch it on one BIG screen. If anyone from the bar is reading, could you please set up a projector????  :-)

lol its a pity sports watching isn't considered cool, sophisticated or suave. If Phoenix somehow converted John Coleman who owns Bettys bar in Blair St you'd have a venue that is 24 surround projectors. Every corner and every wall is one big revolving screen. But I'm fairly sure sports will never be shown there in any form

yeah or we could get the Embassy to put on a party for the game if we make it to the final, biggest screen in southern hemisphere. Lean back in one of those comfortable seats with a large bottle of Emersons...

Actually that would be a very good idea. Would actually consider paying some coin to watch it on the big screen.

What's the chances that the Grand Final (with the nix in of course) will be on at 10 pm next week and not a better family time of 7 pm?

I actually thought Readings Cinema has some sort of tie-in with the Phoenix so surprised they aren't showing the final since they seem to have special seating at games that people can win tickets to

I think the Grand Final is scheduled for 9pm NZ time.

Should be more highbrow. Paramount or Penthouse - all the Mr and Mrs Khandallahs getting up and shouting "who are ya?"

Mate, We purposely didnt have and dont want a big screen for a number of reasons. Firstly the quality of picture from a projector is terrible. LCD and Plasma is so much better it doesnt compare. Secondly, we dont want just one focal point of the bar. Having so many screens more areas where punters can enjoy their own screen in their own area. We have purposely tried to break away from the typical Kiwi sports bar. Im sorry you dont like it. but you are the minority.

We are expecting a big crowd tomorrow for everyone else so i would suggest getting in as early as possible. Cheers

Sometimes a big screen is good, but you are right, these big screens using projectors are usually garbage and I hate watching on them.

Might watch the first half at home. Don't want to risk missing the match due to another potential Sky screwup.

Fortunately I now live significantly closer to the Kings so I can pop down at half time no worries (no, the closeness to Four Kings is NOT the only reason why I chose my new place...probably...)

Anathema on a football fourm, but this lad likes to be able to watch egg-ball, cricket, league, football and more all at the same time.
