Right Lads, who's going to show there dedication to the Yellow Fever by committing to shout the Yellow Fever all night if the Phoenix win the league this season.

Boycie I'm talking to you at the Backbencher
Matt & Jose I'm talking to you at Four Kings

Big kudos is going to go to the Bar that puts it out there first. (No Pressure)

I'll do it (though I am pissed so I will give a disclaimer)

Yeah, but you're always pissed so your disclaimer doesn't count

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Nice try Matt!, how about if you offer to shout the fever beers for a night if the Phoenix win the league, we'll come to your bar and watch the away games!

Im not sure if you are up with the play, but most of the YF faithfull already go to the fourkings to watch away games, Matt also will be discounting certain products for the entire ceason (as will the BB) to all YF card holders, The BB throws a season launch party, the Kings throws an end of season bash. What exactly more are you after?

Am I up with the play??? wtf?
1. I went to four kings for every away game last season.
2. I went to BB's before and after every home game last season
3. I thinks its great that Matt and Boycie give us about 40 cents off a pint (which is the same as a backbencher party members get year round)

But you've missed the point completely. This is an opportunity for BB's or Four Kings or any other bar that wants our hard earned cash to say "We love supporting the Phoenix and we love having the Yellow Fever here, If the Phoenix win the league this season, we'll repay your loyalty to us by shouting you some beers". There's nothing more to it than that.

If Boycie or Matt decide to do that, then cool. If not, thats fine to.

Removes Backbencher hat/

I didnt realise that Yellow Fever was in the market for new home and away venues?
Permalink Permalink

It looks like someone's in the market for free piss... nothing to do with venues

In my (substantial) experience of enabling the provision of free/cheap grog... the more you give, the more people want - it's a no win... better off on the lower side so A) it's appreciated when it is offered; and B) you make some money when it isn't...

Thats a rather interesting way of looking at it.

By your logic, if another bar said "We are so pleased that the Phoenix won the league this season we'll shout the supporters some free/discounted beer/food or whatever it happens to be" then we shouldn't go because its not BB"s or Four Kings.

As I said, its an OPPORTUNITY, nothing more. If either bar decides to take it up then cool, if they don't thats cool too, but don't be surprised if another bar pounced on the opportunity to try and lure some of your best customers away from you.

I think the original intent of my first post has been lost a bit in the banter between you and I UberGunner, given that situation, this thread can probably be closed.

i dont speak for Boycie or Matt, but i feel we have done enough to garner the loyalty of YF members without being held to ransom for more free grog.

Uber I think you've got the wrong end of the stick completely.

Nobody has suggested moving bars.  Fitz was just trying to stir up someone to come forward.

It'd be great if someone offered us a night of boozing - or anything - should the Nix win the league.

It's be a great gesture of support.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Think Fitz is going down the old "If you don't ask, you don't get" road and putting it out there for discussion.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Smithy sounds like he got my meaning spot on.

Thanks for the offer of a shout Mike (Feverish). Chances are if we make the final it'll be in Sydney and I'll definitely be going so we can shout each other beers at some dodgy establishment in Sydders.

As for holding the bars to ransom, my English skills must suck because it was never my intention to convey that message, I live above BB's and go there all the time and more often than not I have a beer and a yarn to Boycie and the locals. Matt can confirm that I spend far to much money at Four Kings every Friday night when I should be home having a quiet night before my football the next day!
I'm a big fan of both pubs and have no intention to looking elsewhere to drink when supporting the Nix.

Lets call this a dead subject and move on to more important matters about the Phoenix and the Fever.

I will shout 20 dozen beers for whoever comes along if the Phoenix win the league this season - it won't be at either bar cos I can't afford that much but will shout 20 doz in a park for a social kickaround......

Any takers.....or just you and me Fitz?
