with apologies to bob dylan

on sunday things might have been quiet a bit different if we'd gone in at the break at 1-1

just watching the replay, that free-kick given in the last minute of injury time, was noted by the commnetators as being   a bit harsh

in the first half the possession and shots stats were v . similar

and we were up on corners and freekicks

none of this changes the result, but it does help me feel a bit better in looking forward friday's game

(having said that, I don't think Ill make myself suffer through the second half again)

That goal just before half time crushed me. Pointless bitching about it now but apart from it being a harsh decision we were well into the 3rd minute of time added on, when it was only supposed to be 2.

I think the kick was awarded within the 2 mins, but whether it warranted a free kick is questionable,

agreed too late to whine and howl about it, but i do wonder if the gap in performance between us and Adelaide might have been closer if we'd gone i at half time with our heads up and it being anyone's game.

Conceding just before the break is never a good thing, but surely being one down with 45 to go, it's still anyone's game.  We have a big problem if our boys think the game is lost when we're one down......

true, the game was still there for the taking but we do both seem to agree that conceding at that point puts the half-time talk and the tactics in a different light

Perth - let's have em!!

Smeltz needs more support though (again)

The weaknesses at the back flow through the whole structure, amounting to what we are seeing with our attack (or not seeing perhaps)

When we get the defensive structure right, or at least significantly improved - it will allow the midfield and wide players to push up the park more confidently (and therefore regularly) which they can't do currently...

And stuff lol

Yep he had been told to shoot when he had the chance (the week before he kinda meandered a bit) and he did just that.

A good point, it was the kind of game that we were gunning for 0 - 0. With Adelaide on a good run and our defence shaky, our best bet for points was a 0 - 0.

Having gone 1 up, things were looking good for about 90 seconds. But even after they had scored, 1 - 1 was still a good result.

The key thing was not to go behind, as we would then have to chase the game just for a point, and in doing so opened ourselves up for what we got.

I expected either a draw or a biggish loss due to the nature of sides and their respective positions

So that goal before half time was HUGE.

Different? Are you 'avin a laugh. From about 10 seconds in our defence was abysmal, if they took their chances more it could have been 7 or 8. It was a joke. You cannot win a football game by defending like that, now matter how much look you get.
