If true he's an excellent signing, possibly the best so far. Good player well up to playing a bit higher, a thoughtful user of the ball who weighs in with goals.

Dont agree, he's probably our worst signing yet. I dont think he's technically there, sure he tries his best, unlike El**ch, but he's still below par

hope he proves me wrong

Technically not there? I think we'll have to agree to disagree. He's one of the better A League players in my opinion.

Always came across as a solid player, but nothing exceptional, I think that this could be his year, and  even more so for Smeltz with the side we have put together.

Our back line looks good and arguebly we have he best midfield in the comp, epecially when you look at our wide players.

Alot of flair, and hopefully alot of goals to go with it.

I think he'll be a good signing. Not a super star as I was expecting. I think Smeltz-Kwasnik will be a good due but won't be the best in the league.

Let's hope the team will be solid and support the strikers to bag heaps of goals and finish top-4!

thanks for that mate,
though I have to say that they are being quite secretive about the details.
My question is, since the deal is no longer secret, why not make a proper announcement?

Because until June 30th Kwasnik is still a CCM player.

Thats a superb summary Jaza. From what I saw last season he looked pretty sharp. We'll see what comes out in the next few days.

Personally I hope we do sign him.

i definatly have to agree that on paper our midfield is strongest (arguably) i a league which is pretty encouraging!

I think he looks like a good signing. After missing out on Porter we need to sign another striker or we're gonna need a lot of goals coming from that ace midfield.

I like him, he's a very clever player, maybe what we lacked a little of last year.  Plus he could be a really good fit for us because of the type of football we play, maybe more so than at the Mariners who were really a pressing team

Who was quoting Tony P? Anyone got the details?

Dompost on Monday. They have been talking to him but nothing is confirmed.

Can I just point out that swapping Adam Kwasnik for Ahmed El**ch is the best piece of football business ever.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Swapping one of Adam Kwasnik's socks for Ahmed El**ch would have been the best piece of football business ever!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Latest article up on the main page (Kwasnik flies off to join Phoenix) states that CCM put an extension offer on the table, however Kwas doesn't seem to want to stay and they said they won't stop him if that's what he wants which is good cos the last thing we need is another Porter-esque grapple between clubs for a striker.

Anyway the last paragraph for me I think sums up why he's quite happy to leave the mariners:

Kwasnik was to play in the trial match against the Newcastle United Jets - a 1-0 loss - at Budgewoi on Saturday but McKinna told him on Friday to stay at home.

Well, McKinna's never struck me as Mr Entertainment.

Instead of getting someone else to do it for him, you mean?

Sorry, couldn't resist it. Been a long day!

is it just me or do we have another porter situation lining itself up

No - nothing in writing - was a "verbal" agreement apparently but Kwasniks representative says it was never made while CCM say it was - McKinna has said he can go anyway so it'll be fine.

so a striker that we want wants to leave a club that wants El**ch...

sounds like a reccomendation to me!

no this is completely different, his contract gives him the choice whether he opts out of the extra year, porters was the clubs choice, hartlepool said we want you for another year, contract was tight. Kwasnik says he wants to leave, he's ours.

and bobbolton, who exaclty do u rate if u don't rate a player who made the top assists in V2 for one of the worst a-league teams?

Had to have a chuckle at the article of the front page - he might not get much time with El**ch there.

He might not be getting lunch... Gametime is debateable

I've just been having a read of the Mariners fan forum, they seem about 50/50, some being disappointed he's leaving because of what he's done for the club, the other half saying he's be to inconsistent last season.

Personally I cannot believe their Manager bought Ahmed El**ch and released Kwasnik. That in itself should be grounds for sacking.

As for Kwasnik struggling to get game time because of El**ch, mate I'd rather have Feverish on the wing than El**ch, at least he's got some pace.

Yeah, he only got the highest assists in the league while playing for Perth Glory. He's so terrible.

kwasnik officially anounced as ours, according to Ausd 4-4-2 (quotes Tony P , so seems kosher)
