They did pretty awesome. They only had 4 shots on goal and got 3 goals. Congrats to them. Barbiero, Cassio, Mullen and Jamieson all really impressed. Rivaldo is past it and is the biggest diver the world has ever seen.

Just off the wires ...
If Adelaide progress to the Final of the AFC Champions League, they will have home and away matches against either Gamba Osaka or the Urawa Red Diamonds (both of Japan), also playing tonight, in November. As Japan is hosting the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup, if they get through to the Final after 90 minutes in Tashkent, Adelaide United would also automatically book a berth in the prestigious competition comprised of the leading clubs from each of FIFA's confederations.
What odds Adelaide United v. Waitakere United in Tokyo?
Cheers,
JR

Adelaide United v. Waitakere United in Tokyo
I'm backing that they will be the losing finalist in the ACL and so will be Waitakere United's opponents first up.
That would be good news, because they will know more about them than the Japanese teams of the J-League having access with A-league coverage on Sky as well as contacts with Ricki and Wellington Phoenix.
Neither of those teams will have little information to go on against Waitakere in the NZFC compare to the other way round. Better chance against Adelaide, I think. Those could underestimate in their strategy but should have the tactics to cope in the first half.
A close game will add information to entertain the thought for another NZ A-league team inclusion at a later date before they start implementing promotion/relegation ideas.

I feel a greater affinity to Adelaide over Auckland for one, and what is bad for NZ/OFC now could be good for us in the long run.

I heard that last night too, although i thought it was "He's up like a salmon.. a spawning salmon!"
Either way, it was one of the greatest sports calls I've heard in a long time!

Waitakere could know the favourite colours and star signs of the entire AUFC squad, it won't matter, they would get absolutely spanked.
Anyway, go Adelaide - you've done yourselves and Australian football proud. Seemed to be a great night for all those fans jam-packed into Hindmarsh.
