So on Sunday I finally made it to the cake tin to watch
Wellington's newest professional football team... despite a
couple of negatives (one on and one off-field).. my enduring memory
is off this amazing goal that I had a perfect view off. I was
sitting above and a little to the side of the right-hand post
itself. It curved so much I had thought it must have got a
deflection from the defender (obviously was having difficulty
believing my eyes!!)..although when I saw it later on TV it showed
no deflection it didn't look as good as the view I had..worth at
least three times the admission price.
So thank you to all the people who brought that about...Terry, Tony, Ricki, YF, the players etc, etc. It is great to be able to see quality football in person and am looking forward to more such goals in the rest of the season..
for those that didn't see it..

We've been lucky to have had a few nice goals already this season.
My personal favorite was Coveny's goal, which featured a string of
really nice passes and a cracking finish off (I think) Daniel's
perfect cross (might have been Lochhead who swung it in though, I
can't remember).
Let's just hope we can sort out our defense (sadly I think new players are required, especially at right back), and keep banging them in up front.

A spectacular effort that anyone would be proud to claim. I reckon
it really rocked CCM too as well got right back into it for a while
there and they were under the cosh.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
