who really couldn't give a rat's a*se about Saturday
night?
I mean, it will be nice - a full stadium; lots
of exposure for football, YF, Nix, Welly, even
NZ; watching Mossy dealing with the BFK; thousands of
excited, attractive women at a footy game; thousands of excited,
unattractive women at a footy game; thousands of excited, drunk
women after the game (when they'll all be
attractive).....
But, football isn't supposed to be nice. The reality of
football is Friday night. And, honestly, if I was offered
the option of three points on Friday and a plague of locusts
wiping out the game on Saturday (Ticketek: Act of God, no
refunds), I'd say - Bring on the locusts!
Maybe I need a holiday.

This has been discussed elsewhere, fine to have that view but I
think we're all sick of defending the beckham game here

You need a holiday....
For all your valid points, and the three we'll take on Friday night, I can only see good in Saturday nights game in raising the profile and extending our support base in Welli and in NZ.
Its a huge coup to bring the Galaxy here with Beckham, Xavier, Donovan and now Gullit being the main attractions but to have a Ring of Fire full of new and excited footie fans, listening to the Fever sing is going to be a memorable night in NZ football history.
This year has been brilliant, the birth of the Phoenix, the explosion of Yellow Fever, the positive steps taken by the All Whites and now the opportunity to attract and impress thousands more football fans...
May the beautiful game rise to the top of NZ's sporting radar......or at least enjoy its lift in profile!

Actually, Xavier is injured and isn't coming.
