C'mon Cobi Jones, surely you don't wanna retire just now, you could still have a few good years playing for the Phoenix?

Donovan said he might come to the A-League after his Galaxy contract expires in 3-4 years...would probably be with Sydney FC I'd imagine but who knows?

Some english guy David something would be a nice addition but I don't think he'd accept 5k a week. Does a wicked free kick. Lonegunmen2007-12-01 14:29:55

Yes defenders, Xavier will do. Y attackers? Because whe obviously need them. Being able to take chances and score goals is always handy when trying to win a football game. Smeltz NEEDS a partner in attack that demains through proformance to be picked in startup side every week. WE NEED TWO STRIKERS FROM THE GET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the biggest reason for Landon Donovan staying in LA - his Missus...

wouldn't be suprised if the Galaxy put in an offer for Costa!

Landon Donovan was a class act tonight. TBH I was more interested in seeing him than Beckham as I had heard much about Landon without actually seeing him. He's a very complete footballer.

Oh please no... If he had to go to the MLS, I'd rather it be LA, but I don't wanna lose Costa just yet haha

Seconded, except once I heard Cobi was playing he hit #1 for me, since it was his last game...much to the annoyance of my LARS buddies haha

I dont know his name but that negro fella partnering Donovan up front was bloody good too. A quick turn of pace and held deenders off. He'd thrive in our team! Lonegunmen2007-12-02 10:31:50

Costa needs to stay! Cobi Jones would be great but he's pretty much set with LAG as Gullit's assistant.

I've been thinking and maybe loan deals between the two clubs would be good since our seasons just barely lap over.

That Armes guy wouldnt be good, he'd be getting sent of every few games. But Landon Donovan was great, whats the salary cap in the ALeague?? i reckon we couldnt afford most of these guys.

Last seasomn it was US$2.1m, and it's expected to be raised next season to 2.3. The player cap is US$400,000, with up to two "designated" (marquee) players - each team gets one marquee spot which can be traded. Donovan almost breached the player cap, because his salary is higher than 400k, but they've used a grandfather clause since his salary was so high before the cap was put in place.

Parvon (your negro fellah QPR?) and Cannoin the keeper were the standouts for me

The keeper was like a bloody olympic gymnast-

He played like a 20 year old. Thanks Salmon07.

Again I hope the Nix players watch this game a few times and learn. It really would benefit them. Clinical no risk football kept simple yet attractive to watch. NO hoofball. It was all about possession.

Both keepers that Galaxy had were bloody superb. They did change right? Cannon was number 1 in first half then they had a bloke in number 0 in second half. Wish we'd had Moss out there, fair call giving Paston a run out but his minds not in the right place now, he just doesn't instill confidence and he doesn't seem to be able to give orders to the defense like a good keeper should.

wth hes not played 1 million a year the MLS salary cap is $2.1 million (they have a marquee exception like us) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Designated_Player_Rule

His 2007 salary is US$900K. He escapes the cap because of a grandfather clause - for a while the G's were thinking they'd have to make a trade for a designated player spot to keep him and Beckham (obviously their DP), but because of the grandfather clause they don't have to

I'd rather not have Harmes in the squad, even if he played for free. The guy is... well I won't swear. But he's not a very good person. He'd make a good defender for the Jets though, could be at the back along side Laybutt, with their similar good sportsmanship and what not.

Is Harmes #19?

The idea was Q. Can we do better? I think so. Theres got to be thousands of good young plyers around, this is a small world, lets start looking. Go scout poor counties where a $1 a day goes a long way

I see where you're coming from auskiwi - there's more places to get players from than Australia, New Zealand and Brazil, that's for sure.

I'm suprised everyone's favourite Roar defender is the only asian in the A-League, for example.

Exactly. Thank you. Hope someone in the know listens and can see the posiblities with good scouts and fair negotiations we could have ( and SHOULD have ) a team that kicks arse
