"Perth coach Ron Smith admits that anything less than a win against Wellington on Friday could spell the end of his coaching tenure at the Glory.Without a win in their last 17 A-League starts, the former NSL champions are languishing at the foot of the ladder with just six points from their ten games this season".

The above artiical was taken from the Western Australian newpaper and it sound as though Ron smith is resigned to the fact that The Mighty Nix could be the team to put him out of a job - never mind the All Black need a new coach.

2 - 4 in favour of The Nix.

Sounds good to me - one aussie's job is a small price to pay for thousands of Kiwi's delight!!!

Hell yes. I'm sure he'll find another job, there must be toilets in Perth that need cleaning.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

He might be able to sell some Humble Pie later on.

Are some of you REALLY that confident that the Phoenix are suddenly going to improve and win this one?

Ive watched last weeks Perth game quite a bit, and reckon they could be quite a handful.
The Phoenix defence really has to sort itself out to win this one, and that is by no means certain.

No s**t, Sherlock   Don't think anybody's taking anything for granted about tonight's game but I'd be more than a bit worried if we all came on here saying we were going to get a pasting. This is a Phoenix site, what's wrong with a bit of blind optimism.

Perth have hit a bit of form and can score goals too. I see they're the bookies' favourites for tonight. That surprised me just a bit, but I supposed it shouldn't, given current form.

Wonder what I'll be thinking in about 4 hours time.....

See him walking off with his back pack ?  Almost like he'd been told to pack his bags, and clean out his locker.

Maybe the Perth front men should go first - they seemed to be Phoenix fans in disguise given the number of rubbish shots they put in on goal.Cantona forever2007-11-03 18:56:08

Ultimately he had to take responsibility. That's the nature of the business. In many other leagues, Smith wouldn't have survived half as long as he did.

Good point Tigers. It can have a revitalising effect on a team, and turn their season right around.
