How does everyone think Sydney and Adelaide will do in this Round of the Champions League?

My tips

Sydney 2 - Indonesians 0

Adelaide 0 - Koreans 0

For no particular reasons. Just my gut feeling.

I reckon it will go Sydney 1-0 Persik
                            Adelaide 0-2 Korean team

Since I think Adelaide will be downcast from the loss of Aloisi and the Korean teams are a real force in the AFC, I think Sydney FC will hold on to beat Persik and take the group lead.

Sydney FC 3-0 Persik Kediri
AUFC 1-1 Seongnam Ilhwa

I think SFC will make a mockery of the Indonesians, while my beloved Reds will I think unfortunately only manage a draw when nothing less than a win will do.

Hydro... we know exactly who it is, it's your Aussie mates that are too lazy to post it.  You see, many of us new Asian football existed before 2005.

Fair point.

Substitute "for the benefit of the readers of this thread who will predominantly be New Zealanders."

Apologies once again.

I'm hoping Adelaide will get up with Bruce Djite finding his straps but only 1-0.  I think Sydney will get goals early and then struggle in the conditions as the game wears on.

As for Asian football .... it would be fair to say that there were only a few Antipodean pundits who were aware it existed and the standard it was at, and even most of those were people like myself who had resided in Asia.  It has been a good football lesson for everyone, myself included, and long may it continue.

One all Sydney with the Uruguayan (can't remember his name) scoring for the Indonesians.

We're pretty much out of it now. But still, there is a slight sliver of hope.

Let's hope Urawa reds  lose all their matches and we win all of ours.

Yeah, or even a draw or two could be enough if we win all our other games.

Why should Kiwis care. We aren't invited.

We've got the Feckin O-League.

Sydney's game just showed how sorely lacking they are in their forward lines.  Any number of chances could have been put away to destroy Persik.  Brosque and Zdrilic are just really mediocre.

Zadkovich is also a farken goon.

10 men down in ridiculous heat & humidity was never going to make for an easy game.

TBH Adelaide should also have put the match away in the second half.  We were all over them.  Two defensive lapses were enough for Seongnam to come out with a draw.  Our chances of progressing are slim to none now :/

Good interview with Ben Buckley, and not toooooo much squirming by Fossie and Les. Branko got a bit defensive though.

Alex Brosque's decision to dive rather than go round the keeper and score just showed that Sydney thought they could take the piss and win...and they can't...because they're not that good....and neither is he.

I don't think it was a dive.
