At least this will keep me  away from social media for a while as dont want to have to listen to AFC fans invading Nix pages. Will sit back quietly and wait for the inevitable fall.

From those aerial shots, you can see all the empty seats.

Fudgesake. Not an acceptable performance that. Only started playing once we went down to 10.

Edit: to clarify, down to the last 10 mins (not red card, there wasn’t one).

Own goal, keeper mistake, open goal missed. Terrible until Rojas came on

Well, if that easy tap in wasn't so easily stuffed up and draw at least would have happened.

How come they are allowed smoke bombs which I think is a cool thing, yet at Sky, we are not?? Well done Auckland & Mt Smart for allowing it. It's not interfering with the game yet adds to the atmosphere.

I did actually lol, before the game when they interviewed him, he essentially said not to count the bye week. We’ve definitely improved, but we’ve been horsesharke for more mins in the derbies than we’ve been good.

As soon as we came out to play Auckland pretty well fell apart. Too little, too late unfortunately.

Results of the derby blah blah yeah it sucks but holy shark. This is football in New Zealand? I can't fudgeing believe it. Over the years the balance of power will fluctuate between north and south (of the north island) but the absolute crazy feeling of this rivalry will continue and I'm all here for it.

Think Jeff brought a good touch. There are some real muppets in the NZ presentation and commentary space, but he is not one of them.

Hope he keeps on making appearances in football, heck get him into cricket to replace that Scotty idiot as well.

Auckland will rise once more

Hope we dont keep hearing the same old BS coming out of the Phoenix time they did their talking on the park. Yes it might be early in the season but they are effectively 3 games ahead and with only one game left against them we are relying on other teams. Sick of hearing the mantra its good  for NZ Football. FK NZ Football they have nothing to do with Phoenix way past time the club started showing some CONSISTENCY.

Make no apologies at all for being so pissed off just thoroughly sick of the same ole shark year after year for 17 years apart from one exceptional season.

Well... Let's look on the brightside, Kosta scored that wonderful goal for meaning we've finally broken their clean sheet streak.

Shark result. When do we fudgeing win something? Attacking evolution my arse.

I didn't watch the game and sounds like it was a good decision.  I'm getting really sick of the blue goo winning all the time.  Another big game another disappointment.  This won't help get a good crowd next week.

It’s hard to reconcile playing five at the back with attacking evolution, when you don’t really have any attacking wing backs.

Need to get rid if that to begin with and play four at the back,  get Rojas into the starting team instead. He has had more than sufficient time to get up to fitness now.

I'm not sure we've quite got the right mix of players this season. There were some signs today but we'll need to be at full strength and fitness to match them next time. Can only hope Rojas will be match fit asap, we're lacking a bit of quality up front at times. Don't wana be that guy but I think OVH has had his chance and needs to be let go. What's he ever done for us in front of goal? To beat the best you need a strong bench and it's lacking a bit.

They won their second derby inside two months. What the fudge does it matter that a clean sheet streak has been broken?

Three for me, and two for them.

It's a different kind of pain when you lose a derby but think some might be taking this out of proportion. Auckland are clearly one of the best if not the best in this league, and they're especially good at home. Three other teams have been outplayed there.

In years past if Melbourne Victory/City or Sydney were top of the league with a 5-0-0 record and we played that game, people would probably be full of praise for how well we competed with such a good team.

It's always upsetting to lose a derby, but this game/result pisses me off a lot less than losing the home derby did.

After Victory, Chiefy said something along the lines of changing his mind on his vision for an attacking evolution - but essentially starting 2 attacking players and Payne at striker at times was ridiculous.

You can accept reverting to last season's successful defensive principles but Rojas, Cola etc. need to be starting games now. And keep Payne at RB over/underlapping a natural winger.

I hate this feeling. Years and years of supporting the phoenix and we never win anything.  😢 so much pain.

We need a striker too!

But I'll come back again next week and have hope. We still have a decent team and will likely end up top 4 or 5.

Imagine how good itd be if we beat them in a play off game...

I'm so sick of this playing out the back though. What's our plan B and C???

I went through a roller coaster of emotions (a few beers in) just writing that 😄 🤣

Exactly.  I believe he follows the game pretty closely.  If Ian Smith could do rugby for years, why not Jeff Wilson for football?

So don’t be that guy.

Goal or assist every 93 minutes last season. That’s better than anyone still at the club.
That’s actually better than anyone from last years squad except Zawada.
But hey, blame the derby loss on the guy who came on for the last 10 minutes.
Just sounds like you have a personal beef.

First of all, stoked we broke their clean sheet record.
Secondly, kudos to them, epic game day experience. Phoenix could learn from that
Thirdly, good for the derby, good for the league and good for football in NZ.

BUT.. shark that hurts. Would’ve loved to have broken the record. We looked a bit lost at times.

Why are Auckland fans allowed to sit in the away zone?! What’s the point of an away zone. And security also need to sort out AFC fans coming into the zone purely to wind people up it will never end well for any body
