Ticketmaster just emailed me, saying my seats have been moved cuz they are moving the Away Bay cuz of a request by the Nix. So I'm now Section 8.
But section 8 (along with 9) was already the away bay?

So they are getting rid of bay 9? Wonder what they are replacing it with
"We’ve been notified that due to the number of away fans attending the match, upon request from Wellington Phoenix Auckland FC have agreed to relocate patrons who have purchased tickets in the away bay, to a larger away section. Your seats will be relocated into section 8."

That is what the email said. I'm thinking its Bay 8 being cleared out for a block booking now.

I know I don't really have a right too, but I'm a little annoyed at that.
Was right in front of aisle 9 (seats 20/21) Wasn't in the YF because I'm taking my brother. But alas, I haven't received an email about it - Yet!
My dad booked the seats right next to you (18/19) and the mobile ticket is now showing as “invalid”.

No email as yet from what he’s said though…

As cool as that is, this does not bode well for my front row aisle seat! 🥺

Classic wartime tactics by The Port paramilitary wing. Foley's thugs. Remove/eliminate your enemy's leaders/elite, and their lower ranks just become leaderless zombies.

Their propoganda unit has even been clever enough, to dress it up as a request from Phoenix HQ. I fear a shallow grave (stoney soil) on the Desert Road for RR. At least he will be half way home.

We shall make annual pilgrimages and pour Wellington craft beer on the simple stone cairn on the Desert Road roadside to commemorate those who gave more than others to the cause.

What counts as craft beer? Do Parrotdog and Black Dog still count?

Section 8?
Missus has gone to sleep, so I'll have to bug her at work about it tomorrow.

Okay so this is what the club has said about those who have been moved :
"Ok so what has happened is the Phoenix asked for both groups 43 and 8 to sit together so Ticketmaster moved all tickets from 43 in to 8. They should contact Ticketmaster if they cannot see their ticket as they handle the tickets."
People have any doubts they should contact Ticketmaster.
Was crazy that Auckland had away fans in opposite corners of the stadium hoepfull they have things sorted properly for the game in February.

Already soo keen for this game.

If you guys have someone pull out (spare ticket and spare car seat), ill join you guys (and pay for ticket and contribute to fuel). I'm in the tron but turns out I have no one to go with as my usual crew have become Auckland fans (and yes im aware im a complete stranger but it seems worth it).
12 Nov 02:20
Wish I could've gone but oh well. Gonna try convince the fam to meet up for one big watch party of the game. My uncle is a day 1 supporter so I'm hopeful he'll agree
12 Nov 05:32
Yep I'm fizzing for this one. I got my favourite seats too right in the middle middle of the eastern stand where I watch the warriors from.

I'm hopeful that it won't feel like an away game. I'm thinking that a lot of casual fans in Auckland will still support the Nix - the crowd could look fairly yellow for this first season at least.

After that last game, provided we keep improving and get Rojas back, I'm hopeful we'll show up this time around. We have way more class in our squad and could beat them in style... A nice Ishige free kick anyone?

Turnout is looking mighty full with 3 weeks still to go.

Making my way up from New Plymouth on either 6th or 7th (work dependant) so if anyone is looking for a lift, then I've got room for two, three at an absolute push - There is a carseat that I am not willing to remove, so third will be a squeeze!

DM or message on here if you need a lift. Goes without saying that it will likely be a big night, so staying overnight out Manukau.

I’ve heard from AFC, derby is nearly sold out. Only limited remaining in south stand GA.
Incredible given over 3 weeks out from the game

Such a wasted opportunity that this game was not played at eden park, 35k+ easy if they've just about sold out Mt Smart 3 weeks in advance.

Yes agree. Wonder if they will reconsider that for the 3rd derby in February. Especially if both teams are travelling well and in playoffs contention.

Feb is often the best summer month in the 09. I remember the Nix drawing over 24K to EP against the VUC, on a balmy Feb evening back when Rudan was the coach.

Sold out Mt Smart and a close atmosphere is way better than selling more for a half full Eden Park.

I wonder if the organisers of the Western Springs u17 tournament have noticed that the boys QF games clash with this game.

The club is 2 home games old, and the atmosphere has been pretty good for that. No way will they up and zip off to Eden Park just for a few dollars, they are looking to build a solid home base, not move it.

I’m sure someone on this forum is in the know. Obviously one of the reasons that teams don’t like playing at Eden park, apart from the size of the ground is the cost.

So what would be the cost of staging a game at:

Mt Smart
Westpac
Eden park?

Auckland will rise once more

15 Nov 20:41
Only 12 seats remaining in the away section!

In the interests of community engagement the game at Mt Smart should be postponed

I just bought the second to last single seat in the away section in row N and according to ticketek there is one more pair of seats. 3 left, not a bad effort.

I would imagine the rip off Board members at the Stadium Trust would be ripping the Phoenix a lot more than the 2 Stadia in Auckland. I believe the Nix pay a lot more rent than either the Hurricanes do & the Lions did, yet both of those franchises are finding it a struggle. I've also been told that the Stadia was paid off years ago so what those rip off Stadium Trust Board members are grabbing is profit minus rates.

That whole Stadium Trust needs sacking. I'd like to think that Auckland is much more aware that that you don't kill the goose laying golden eggs with their own fees

Mt Smart is owned by council via Auckland Stadiums (same as North Harbour) so would have to expect it's cheaper to hire from them than from a private company like the one who owns Eden Park

Mount Smart has way better atmosphere than Eden Park. You feel so much closer to the field. Yeah it is open on one end, but the two main stands hold sound better than Eden Park. Plus the main thing that it's a rectangular stadium for a rectangular sport.

For those of us late to buy tickets (uncertainty about ability to get there), is there a secondary area that Nix fans will be clustered?
Maybe the GA area around, but not in, the Port?

I know, I know, its serious!

Looks like there is only about 50 seats left in Bay 2 + 43 available at $40 + fees left. Next step up is Black Knight's Club ones at $425+ fees. So GA section might be the only place to get tickets without selling a kidney pretty soon.

I guess this thread will temporarily become a place for procrastinators to lament?

Anyway, if anyone finds themselves with (just one, single) spare ticket going in the away zone, please reach out!
