How sh*t was the tv coverage of last night's game?
Could the commentators have been any more one-eyed?!
Yes, our lads deserved to be soundly beaten by a team who came
out and played soime cracking football. But, is it too much
to ask for some balanced coverage from our mates across the
Tasman.
The commentators were so into the home side, one of them
even referred to the Pheonix as 'the opposition'.
Yes, the Marriners looked good in possession, but they were'nt
exactly 'all over Wellington' as the commentators suggested.
They didn't even acknowledge the Pheonix's superior territory and
possession until half time when the stats came up on the graphic -
up until then the commentry was implying quite the opposite.
And, how about that second goal: now, I dunno if it was
a foul on Daniel or not, 'cause the commentators didn't bother to
metion it and the tv coverage wouldn't even repeat it.
Infact, the replays were very short and even at half time, the
replay of the second goal began immediately after the
incident. Now, I was counting - they played about 8-9 seconds
of replay leading up to the other goals and only 4-5 for that
goal.
Maybe Daniel fell over, maybe it wasn't a foul - but at least
let us have a look. This is the kind of dodgy sh*te we expect
from the NRL.
Conspiracy? Or, am I just a one eyed Welly fan who's so
sick with yellow fever he can't form a balanced view?
Either way. Come on Aussies, give us some balance in the
TV coverage next time eh!!!
And, come on Pheonix - lets crank it up a notch for the
home crowd next week.

I had no problem with the commentators last night, anything is
a blessing not having to hear de Jong and co. Now there are
some blatant one eyed commentators, with the only emotion being
COVENY! DANIEL! SMELTZ! yelled at the top of his
voice.
Let's face it, we were pretty awful and they called it as
such. Oh, and Daniel is a pussy, and highly
embarassing. I don't care if he was fouled for the second
goal, if he got a little harder and didn't dive every time, maybe
when he does get fouled people will believe it. Something
about a boy and a wolf I think...

If you hate Australian coverage so much then turn the volume down.
Honestly, I don't think you understand what bad commentary is
unless you've heard the likes of Graham Pleat covering a Tottenham
game.
The Phoenix we're soundly beaten on Friday and as far as I'm concerned a team deserves little to no praise when they go down 3-0 and you're going to have to learn to take some criticism.

I'm surprised that you guys are only just finding out about Slater now.
Us Kingz/Knights supporters had to put up with his sh*te for
years, and at least he wasn't suggesting that you don't deserve to
be there.
Put it to Sky that they should get a Kiwi commentary voice
over for the away games.
Also get cracking with some big banners with some anti-Slater
banter and a few chants as well.

their commentary? And requests made for kiwi commentators for
away games?

As usual, you myopic Aussies miss the point completely.
This is not about Aussie commentators per se, it is about one
commentator who has come out in print saying that New Zealand
should not be there. He has contined an Anti-Kiwi crusade since.
And all we are saying is that we should not have to listen to
him. He upsets us and we will keep saying so.
We get Aussie commentators all the time on all the other codes
and there is not a problem, bias or otherwise. In fact they
are usually so much better than Kiwi ones with their wonderful dry
humour and colourful descriptions.

which he pushes at any chance he gets.]

corner in the first half, the camera man chopped the
players off the screen!! (or maybe it was my tv)

things up.....there are more sheep in Australia than NZ hence you
guys must be the sheep Sha**ers & most of the time your heads
are so far up your own arse you wouldnt be able to hear the
