It'll be my first trip to the Backbencher on Sunday (the pre-season cup games I've just walked to the game due to other commitments beforehand). So can anyone let me know what beers etc they do and how much they cost?? I have my fevercard, so will be using that with force, lol.

But being serious, the 2 of us that plan on coming down are both without fake ID's. Were coming a fairly long way and would like to be able to get a few beers with the YF before + After the game.

seriously, if you want the yellow fever's drinking hole to be closed down due to serving minors, then you are on the right track.

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

Youve misunderstood. They wont be serving us, we're just asking if someone will buy for us, theres no law against that

Im pretty certain you can drink accompanied.

Official Voice "Anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a legal guardian. A legal guardian is defined by a biological or adoptive parent or some appointed by a court as a guardian. Anyone outside these guidelines are not even allowed on licensed premises let alone to be served at the bar."  The flip side of this law is that it is perfectly legal for a parent to buy alcohol for their child and for them to consume it if provided for by a legal guardian. Ive yet to see it but this means you can legally get your kid trashed and as Publicans we are unable to prevent this. CIPS may have something to say, but it doesn't violate our license.

Knowingly supplying a minor is a $10,000 fine from memory. Unles you are their guardian of course.

How to explain this without sounding like a Fun Nazi.

OK imagine this scenario.

You and some Underage mates have a couple of drinks at the backbencher, leave absolutely fine, go to the game , have a few more drinks get a nice buzz on, go into town and get trashed, end up in any number of illegal situations(fighting, vandalizing, drunk and disorderly behavior) get pulled up by the cops and spend the night in a cell. Here is the list of what can happen to you as opposed to what can happen to us.
1)Under 18
  • Offense: buying alcohol
Penalty: infringement fee of $200 or a fine of up to $200
  • Offense: being in a restricted or supervised area of a licensed premise (without a parent or legal guardian)
Penalty: Infringement fee of $200 or a fine of up to $2000
  • Offense: drinking in a public place or in possession of alcohol in a public place (without a parent or legal guardian)
Penalty: infringement fee of $200 or a fine of up to $30

2)Licensed premise

  • Offense: selling or supplying alcohol to an underage person
Penalty: licensee - a fine of up to $10,000, suspension of license up to 7 days, or both
Manager - a fine of up to $10,000
Staff - a fine of up to $2000
  • Offense: permitting someone under 18 to be in a restricted or supervised area of a licensed premise (without a parent or legal guardian)
Penalty: a licensee or manager can be fined up to $2000
  • Offense: sale or supply of alcohol to an intoxicated person or allowing a person to become intoxicated
Penalty: licensee or manager - a fine of up to $10,000
Staff - a fine of up to $2000

Now explain to me why we should take that risk under ANY circumstances

true, believe ir not, I am sympathetic to your cause but rules are rules. Mind you there's some people over 18 thast shouldn't be allowed to drink at all.

The only thing i can suggest is ask someone in our outside area out back where there is a tv to turn it onto the warriors game, that way you can watch it and there wont be any problems.
