Backbencher Survival Guide.

Just a few tips to make the Backbencher a more enjoyable place to be before the game.

1. Bring cash!!. we have 3 eftpos terminals downstairs and one upstairs, but waiting on a transaction is the slowest way to order a pint, hand over cash and you'll be away from the bar that much quicker.
2. Remember the BBQ outside. We always have a BBQ going a couple of hours before the game.Beverages of Stella ($7) and Speights ($5) bottles are available, plus sausages and our famous venison burgers. there is usually no queue and this is the fastest way to grab a bite to eat before the game. (also funds from this BBQ go toward funding Yellow Fever)
3. As of the 30th September we will be opening our upstairs bar to the public. This area will be less crowded and offer a smaller selection of tap beers and wines but still the full range of bottled beer. this area also includes a heated outside area for smokers.
4. Ordering pitchers of beer saves time and money(not available upstairs), its easier to carry a 2.25 liter pitcher than 5 full pints through the crowds.
5. Remember to show your Fever Card to get discounts on NZ tap beer,(doesn't include Guinness, Stella & Kilkenny but does include Oranjeboom for some reason - Go figure) and house wine
6. Yellow fever members tend to congregate in the back bar, if you want to join in with the singing and chanting, thats the place to be.
7. Finally enjoy yourselves. We are here to make sure you have a good time but due to the sheer volume of people we are dealing with we ask you to please be patient with our staff, if you have been at the bar for a while and it seems like they are ignoring you, they aren't, we are just busy, and getting snotty about it doesn't help your cause the next time you come up for a drink.

There was a fair amount of Establishment-sl*gging going on where I was at the ground today when ZM were running their infernal advertising bollocks.

Incidentally, can we get a better-educated Wellingtonian to go up against the Aussie in the half time quiz next home game!  Hard News is my pick.

They might say The Establishment is the official bar of the 'nix, but with the awesome staff, everything y'all have done for YF, and for pork so delicious I'm gonna have trouble staying away, the Backbencher will always be the official bar of robbwatson 

That being said, good on The Establishment for getting behind the 'Nix

Good shout robbwatson...was excellent to see the big red bus cruising round town today with Phoenix flags hanging off it.

But...

i went to the establishent after match and it was a disgrace.it was basically a bunch of cloens who had  too much fizz.the only chant that i heard was who r ya who r ya and they even did it when the players walked up to the aftermatch, and the boys just looked at them like wot have u been smoking!!the backbencher is clearly where it is at so dont waste your time at the establishment cos its crap!!!my thoughts anyway even though they dont mean sh*t.

at the BB we replayed what we had videod from the BBand the game. Brilliant!

probably. we were steaming . went at caught up with the teamin town. They were all very good as they havbe training tomorrow - whereas we were steaming. You might not hear off Frankie for a day or two..

theres about 100 users on here now - how good is that?

we played the dvd from the vid cam at the BB afterwards. Was great (apart from when Trish filmed her feet cos she didnt know how to turn it off). We'll do that again next time - so get along to the BB afterwards and you might see yourself (I'll get it on YFTV at some stage (what am i doing up at 5am?))

I normally winge (pom ) about bar staff in NZ but you guys down the BB do a great job, serving heaps of peeps as quick as you can! Awesome !

anyone know anything about video editing?

the only way to do it would be to import it into a SQL database, and then send it to your Blackberry.  Providing you have enough RAM, you will then be able to FTP it to your Active Directory, and it can then be copied to youtube.com

Feverish, get VLC and use the export wizard. Its fairly easy.

the BB after the game was great, the vid was funny, and talking to all the fans, all telling our own stories on the game, and the crowd, it was superb, loved every minute of it, went home ate my dinner, farted, rolled over on the couch, and passed out. Priceless

feverish just download a free vob to avi downloader then you can edit in movie maker

Bet there were many who checked today to see what they posted last nite. Not me of course.

Great to be part of the atmosphere in the BB, well done YF, esp the organisers. Yeh the video was priceless. I think HN rounded up even more flags than he was given! Thanks everyone, had a good trip back too.

Great to meet you Oi Oi and look forward to catching up when you next make the trip down.  Good on you for the long road trip.......
