The Backy are gonna give out these cool Yellow Fever shirts when you get a 20 drink ticket clipped (ie buy 20 drinks - doesnt have to be in the same session!).
I'm starting Friday by watching the A-League kick-off there on the big screen at 10pm..

The deal is, once you fill your card, we will sign, stamp and authorise your card. you then pop on down to Champs to pick up the shirt in your size. At that point you can also arrange at your own expense to put your yellow fever username on the back of the shirt if you so choose. There should be space.

I believe that phrase was suggested by myself with reference to the Phoenix and Firkin pub in London, so if you wanna flick one of those shirts down this way that would be great, thanks...

Are these going to be available all season, or is this a limited edition job?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Cranked up 15 stamps watching the footy last night - 5 to go. Well done to the chap who ordered an 11 beer round in order to get his hands on the first shirt - only to find (despite me telling him) that he has to go to Champs to pick it up tomorrow. The look on his face was classic.
Good times last night at the BB trading chants with the Victory lads, bonded by a common hatred of Sydney.

Last night was fantastic for us. Had to get Boycie's wife in to pick him up, he did well to get his 20 stamps, but I'm kinda ticked he took one of our only 2 promotional shirts. At least he did it the honest way. All the staff are asking if they can have them, and i tell them sure, join yellow fever get your card, drink 20 drinks, and then its all yours. We had no problems last night so away supporters visiting the capital are welcome as long as they understand that they will be largely outnumbered and constantly ridiculed for their poor choice of team support.

7 stamps to go.

I bloody invented the conceot, designed the shirt, and paid for the creation of them with money out of my own pocket, and I still have to get my 20 stamps like every one else.  Disgrace.

Awesome shirt, what about non beer drinkers?? I'll be driving to the games, bugger catching a train from Upper Hutt! Besides night shifts don't bode well for an amber session.

This offer is now closed.
No new cards will be issued until the Fever Lounge organize their new shirt. Existing card holders will still be able to fill there cards and redeem them, just don't expect to use the card in a months time and expect that there will be any shirts left. This was a limited production run and the supply is nearly gone in less than a month. We (at the Backbencher & Fever lounge) would like to thank everyone who nearly poisoned themselves to earn one of these shirts for free. Due to demand they may become available for general sale at a cost (+ small profit for yellow fever fund) price.

Any queries pls contact mailto:paul@backbencher.co.nz

Nah, just take it into champs and they will sort you out. The comments about signing the card etc where made in reply to the person who was implying they would use photo shop on the cards to fraudulently procure shirts.

Umph! that is really going to piss the wife off as I got the shirt and she didn't I told her on Sunday it wouldn't take us long to get up to twenty again. You better get them on sale sharpish!  BTW they are really really nice shirts,  good quality and groovy design.

Themanufacturing price reflects the quality, hence the limited run. We are looking to try and get them on sale for $50 but that may be a little optimistic.

$50 is very reasonable for a shirt these days so I reckon you could go higher if you  have to, to make it worthwhile like.

Can we reserve them, 1st dibs if we can i'm a large ta!!

As i said, the differance betwwen cost and retail would more than likley go into the fund we have set up for yellow fever - so far only the BBQ proceeds are there. We would like to use this money to help get YF a giant phoenix shirt to display at games.

Excellent idea, can we help by donating money for such a worthy idea??
Permalink Permalink

Nothing is official yet. Im supprised the YF guys dont have a Paypal donation link. Im assuming the amount of traffic that goes through this site and the storage would be quite expensive. We gave them some money, but im sure the maintenance and upgrades arnt free.

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.
