Beckham visit is great for the Phoenix

Congratulations to the Phoenix management on securing the Beckham
game.
Just a reminder to everyone what a fantastic event this is this weekend.
It will get the Wellington Phoenix name out to more people and hopefully convert many new fans.
Make sure you hassle everyone you know into coming so we can sell those last few tickets.
There's a few of you who would rather see their favourite player or team playing the Phoenix.
While that's understandable, we should realise how unlikely it is - we are a small country with little football following.
Only one other A-League team got to play the Galaxy; I'm sure many Aussies wish they were here this weekend.
Beckham may not be the world's best player, but he is the most famous. We should give him our support and thanks.
Being negative, and chanting against Beckham, risks looking like childishness to outsiders.
We want to encourage new fans, not turn them off.
Let's put all those 'I wish it was X instead' feelings aside and just enjoy this weekend for what it is.
And if you're really not happy, just cheer for the Phoenix, not against Beckham.
I'm looking forward to being part of some huge crowds.
Hoping for a win against Adelaide, and ideally a replay of the Sydney result on Saturday!
And also the inspiration for the next generation of Phoenix players here in NZ!

the whole crowd singing Victoria is going to be awesome, can't wait!!!
I know people who have been at a game at Stamford bridge and
saw Beckham get pelted with pound coins while taking a corner..
After that I'm sure he would mind a bit of tougue and cheek from
us.

I'm not sure Victoria is actually going to work to well...half the
people will be singing "What do you want from him" the other half
will be sining "What do you se in him" then add into that people
starting at different times! haha could be horrible!
