From the Solomons Star paper:
"In 2012 after the Nations Cup, Totori signed a one-year deal with Hyundai A-League club Wellington Phoenix.

He returned last year and recently plied his trade for home club, Western United FC.

Totori was recently reported to have received a request to team up with the country’s OFC Club championship representative, Solomon Warriors but refused as he had other plans.

Attempts to contact Totori on Tuesday were unsuccessful."

Other star players at other clubs in the tournament:

Former French Ligue 1 star, France u-21 and Tahitian international Marama Vahirua will play for AS Pirae. The first UEFA Champions League player to play in the OFC Champions League (played for French champions Nantes in the 2001-2002 Champions League topping the first group stage ahead of PSV, Lazio and Galatasaray; apparently Vahirua played a blinder in the home draw in the second group stage v. Man Utd))

Vanuatu star Fenedy Masauvakolo will be in action for Amicale, who have also signed three Serbians, one Italian, one Scottish and a handful of Solomon Islands players.

People from the Solomons and PNG regularly have visa issues. The strange part is that the main flight in and out of Solomons is via Australia!!!

Grumpy old bastard alert

An international flight in connecting to another International flight out does not need a visa in Oz. As you pass through secure areas between gate lounges.

I feel the picture of a donkey accompanying the news link about Totori on the Yellow Fever home page is a bit tasteless.

Why mock former Phoenix players? Players from Aussie sides etc. I approve of. Totori deserves some respect as one of the best players in our national league over the last decade, even if it didn't work out for him at the Phoenix.

Not as good a player as Batram Suri was at his height for Nelson in the 1990's in my opinion (scored against Australia every time the Solomons played them and a hat-trick against the All Whites for an All-Star team in a friendly). Bizarrely used as a wing-back by Wynton at the Football Kingz.

Wynton doing something bizarre? Why, I never.
