Due to an acute health issue , it is probable that my little boy won't be able to play this season. I haven't told him yet- it will absolutely crush him.
One thing he'd love to do do though, while we still can, is go to an away game ( home season tickets this coming year are a given).
I haven't been to an away game- if you guys had your pick , which away fixture would you go to?
TIA.

Sad news mate... not sure how old he is but one suggestion may be Brissy or the Gold Coast as you have the added benefit of the theme parks that he would probably enjoy?...

Rough news mate.

Theres a few good spots- Brissy and GCU home games if you find a couple close togther- plus theme parks!

Melbin you might get two games in a week?

I don't rate the gold coast away trip, besides 2 of us no one would make any noise at all.

PERTH FTW.

But seriously if you want a good trip I would recommend Gold Coast or Brissy just because there is more 2 do there for little one. But if you want a better atmosphere I would go to one of the Melbourne games. But do wear a stab proof vest :) OR otherwise I would go to Sydney.

Hope your lil man gets better

Being a Phoenix Supporter. We have the benefit that most of the other clubs supporters like us. Wherever you go (Except melbourne) the fans are always light hearted. Ive only been to one away nix game but have been to other non nix games in the past.
Sydney is a good place I think, lots to see and do, atmosphere is always good at moore park.
Gold coast too, not so much for the game though.

Thanks  for the replies , guys.Based on the advice, looks like either Brissy or Sydney ( like the idea of the theme parks so favouring Brissy at the moment).Lots of time to decide though.Melbourne-I like the town but wouldn't be able to stop vomiting as soon as the plane lands
We'll have a hell of a good trip regardless .

Anyone been to newcastle or CCM? Was thinking about doing an away trip there if not Melbourne myself.

Oh and good luck with the young fellas health. Brisbane would be good for the theme parks and of course the way the roar have been playing, it would be an entertaining game.

Tempted to "lead" a tour de force to one of these matches (Gypsies or Planes) as I have a little local knowledge that will go a long way!!!

I've always wanted to go to Bluetongue....reckon its one of the most picturesque grounds in the country....not sure on a night out in Gosford though.....

I've done a Melbin and two Sydneys....keen on a Bris Roar trip as Suncorp is on my list of "to visits"....

Had a quick look last month. Gosford is 90 mins by train from Sydney Central, and only $7.80 each way. Trains seem to run late into the night, so it looked easiest to stay in Sydney and commute. A CCM/Sydney (or Newcastle) double would be very tempting.

Thats whats we done for the nix 1st seasons last away game worked in well, the leagues club is across the road from the stadium and the locals very friendly.  If your staying in sydney i would recommend city crown motel short walk to station and a short stroll to SFS.
Also lots of bars etc close by
Been to away games at melbs, sydney, adelaide,Gosford & goldcoast

Unless it's the Stock Car teams nationals... great night out for your inner bogan as long as you don't mind being surrounded by lots of outer bogans.

So glad I stumbled across this. Cheers Dale, oh and I'm not sure I thanked you for (not) making sure I was okay! (Laughing hysterically in bed does not count)

End of an era.  Vinnie - It's over.
