Pretty obvious really, been thinkin about it since Sunday. The Costa one I put in as the dark horse, thought it was a great goal and every time I have seen it since think it was magic.
Yours please?

I would chuck in Smeltz's goal when we won 2-1(?) last season. Hearfield scored one but the goal he set up for Smeltz was a beauty. Crossed it in and Smeltz headed it straight into the top corner and it was like a bullet, heaps of power in it, the keeper hadn't a chance.

Yeah, it was a quick freekick that found felipe and he ran at the defence with a little step over creating space for a left footed shot into the corner of the goal from outside of the box.
I also liked Smeltz's first goal against adelaide which we ended up losing 4-1.

I totally agree however my hand is refusing to click the mouse on that selection. Not even using two hands can I force the button down. I guess some things are just not meant to be.

Same here
.
Definately a few missing there, the Judas lob against Noocastle, and his headder in season one from a volleyed Lia cross, Vinny and Ferrante also scored decent drives that year.

Fatty's and Smeltz v Melbourne is equal for me.Costa's was a terrific team goal. I thought that Coveny's against Perth in the 4-1 rout was another great team goal too.

Gotta be the slick fred ball and great touch from Smeltz to skip past a few tards and whack the ball in. Pure emotion wins it for me.
Bertos' had emotion too though - but maybe partly relief

I don't want to take anything away from the Bertos goal. It was the sweetest low hard strike I've seen from a Phoenix player. Goal from the longest distance we've scored. But I have to rate a goal with no deflection ahead of a strike that the keeper probably would have got to if it wasn't for the deflection. Awesome still.

None of those goals matches Rufer's for the Kingz against Newcastle where he received it behind him, swivelled 360 degrees and planted it in the bottom left hand corner. That is the greatest goal by New Zealand team in the Australian's top flight.

what about the Di Canio volley versus Wimbledon?

Does anyone have footage of this? Never saw it, would love to...

Di Canio is a fascist plonker playing for a bunch of theiving pearly queen wide boys, who haven't had a wash since their mum made them, incha. Rufer played for the previous incarnation of the franchise which became the Phoenix, until it was ruined by the TV station who are doing their best to ignore the bests sport in the world, and then stolen by a fat sandwich maker who couldn't run a bath.

Apart from the West Ham stuff (which makes me altogether Meh) the rest is pretty much bang on.
Our mate Bxela however would tell us that Sky were just misunderstood and they never meant to threaten to shut down the club they had crippled unless someone else took it over, but I digress.

Keen to see it, surely there's plenty of Kingz footage lying around that can be dug up like a lot of old All Whites stuff is? That was the first clip I saw that really switched me on to the Phoenix too. I think that was the one where he smashed it in from a very acute angle, yeah? I thought, wow, we've got three Brazilian geniuses signed up. Then that excitement turned to belly laughs when I saw poor clueless Cleberson flailing around a few weeks later.
btw, would the Daniel from season 1 please report for duty.
