Best Phoenix 11

Im not sure if this have ever been discussed, but i was considering the best phoenix 11 of our fist four seasons.

The most trouble i have had is with the midfield, as i feel it has always been a weakness

i have also maintained ricki's recent much loved 4-3-3

Mods feel free to move if necessary

Bench:
Reddy- Awesome keeper, wished he stayed around for a longer period
Siggy- My hero, but stuck behind some quality
Caceras - Quality balls in and awesome in the run into the finals last season
Rojas - Huge future, Hasn't played enough games to be considered the best

First Team:
                    Paston
Muscat - Mckain - Durante - Lochhead
       Brown - Ward - Lia
Ifill         -    Smeltz    -   Bertos

Feel free to list your own or destroy my choices as you wish

Felipe?
Rojas has done more in the last month than Bertos has done in the last few seasons

i considered felipe, but decided his impact wasnt as big, as perhaps caceras who's ability coincided with a finals run. The same with reddy over vukovic and moss

Bertos had a killer start to last year and has been a steady performer for years.. Rojas has started something like 7 games.. Maybe mid next season he will be counted as one of the best.

Special mention also goes to greenacre, who has always worked his butt off for the team

Nice! But I would start Reddy and Rojas for Paston and Leo.

Wheres George and Cleberson? This is an outrage.

Caseres? Really?

Why is everyone always so surprised to find that other people liked Caseres!
In my opinion one of our best bench players ever, I'd have him on the bench now over Daniel (current form) or Toto or Pav.

best impact player we have had

always came on and tried to make something of it

sorta like greenie, but fitted into the system alot better

weve all mostly been a tad harsh on moss, perhaps he's just suffered for being a reluctant part of a very weak defensive unit

I agree, Moss is really being negelected here, and think Paston's getting too much credit, perhaps because he's been the constant feature of the team from the start.

In terms of pure goalkeeping performance for the team, think Reddy's been easily our best, and I'd have Mossy on the bench.

Honourable mentions to Pasty, Siggy and Fred, who was probably one of the very best but never had the chance to shine. Aloisi in there for leadership and being one of few decent central midfielders we've had, particularly with Manny being the only option at RB.

yea reddy was probably best-performed, but i guess i took paston's longevity into account, whether i should have or not

We really have been lucky to have some good keepers.

Lia has been average for the most part this season (though he's had a few good runs of late) but at times like early last season he was fantastic for a lot of games.

Closest thing we've ever had to a quality A-League #10, he drifted in and out of games but often had a telling impact, also, his link-up with Lochhead and Daniel was key in getting fans to keep coming back in season 1.

17 out of 21.  There is a reason why Felipe (and not Brown) got offered a lucrative contract offer in Saudi.
