Tuiloma on the pine for Charlotte.

Edit - the home team team win 4-1. Tuiloma an unused sub.

Charlotte had a CB sent off at 74 mins (4-0). But looks like they just restructured their lineup on the park at the time.

Hopefully the red card suspension means Tuiloma gets a start next week.

Just splinters for Tuiloma in a 2-0 loss.
Calvin Harris on at 60 mins for the Rapids (0-0)

Same old, same old. Tuiloma an unused sub, as Charlotte win 2-1.
Patrick Yazbek (ex SFC) 5 mins off the pine for Nashville.

Tuiloma on the pine. Charlotte 1-0 up late first half.

Tuiloma an unused sub in a 1-0 road win.
28 yr old Spanish midfielder Pep Biel the goal for Charlotte.

Interestingly Biel is on loan at Charlotte from Stamenic's Olympiakos. Biel was previously at FC Copenhagen when Stamenic was also there.

Stamenic to the MLS?! Hope not

As usual on the pine.
Edit - Charlotte up 2-0 at HT. San Diego down to 10 men.

Edit 2 - more splinters for Tuiloma as Charlotte wins 3-0. Looks like basically being another wasted football season for Billy T. At least he's being well paid for turning up to trainings.

Unused sub in a 0-1 loss.

Cut & paste. Tuiloma rides the pine as Charlotte lose 4-2.

And yes finally Tuiloma gets a start.

Edit - Bill at RCB in a back 4. He got a yellow at 36 mins.
0-0 at HT.

Edit 2 - 0-0 in NT. Charlotte up 2-1 now in ET. Tuiloma still on the field.

Comfortable 4-1 win for Charlotte in the end. All 5 goals in ET.
You'd expect a MLS team to have higher fitness levels to go the 120 mins.

Tuiloma off at 105 mins (2-1)

1-1 early 2nd half. Tuiloma on the pine.

Young Patrick Yazbek (ex SFC & Bell's Viking) in midfield for Nashville.

Edit - Charlotte lose 21- at BT watches on. Yazbek 82 mins for Nashville.

Tuiloma where he always is. I guess the plan is to ride out this MLS season on that nice juicy $NZ750K salary. Contract runs to Nov or December from memory.

He'll know that Boxall, Surman, Bindon, Pijnaker & even Smith are likely all ahead of him re the World Cup, He'll need an injury or 2 to break into the team.

Edit - Charlotte lose 3-1. Tuiloma's posterior stays on the bench.

Tuiloma on the pine as Charlotte lose 1-4.

Wilfried Zaha who may suit up for the Ivory Coast against AWs in a few weeks, a full game for Charlotte.

Tuiloma starts at CB for Charlotte. He may have hoped for a run at RB, to improve his AWs chances.

Socceroo Kyle Rowles (ex CCM) is these days at DC United. And is one of 3 CBs for them.

Tuiloma scores to put Charlotte ahead of DC in the US Open Cup, 2-1 the current score.

First goal since scoring in MNP last year, first goal for Charlotte, and first goal for an MLS club since his Timbers days.

Looks svelte

What a nice 24 hours he's had. Also captain in this game.

DC level it back up at 2-2, and into ET.

Edit - now 3-3 in ET. Good test of Tuiloma's match fitness.

Finishes 3-3 at end of ET. Tuiloma off at 100 mins.

The world's worst pen shootout follows. DC United (3 fails) prevail 2-1 with Charlotte having 4 non conversions from the spot.

Should have kept BT on for the shootout. His CB partner Malanda from France one of those to not convert his pen.

He's such a big unit. Crazy to think he's only 30...

I can see him back in the A-league in the next 2 years easy.

Charlotte win 3-2. Wilfred Zaha who wasn't picked for Ivory Coast's squad gets two assists.

Meanwhile Tuiloma who gets an All Whites recall, yet again rides the pine in the MLS.

Tuiloma on the bench.

Hopefully he's doing some extra running at Charlotte training in preparation for what lies ahead soon in Toronto.

Edit - Charlotte lose 4-2. Billy T continues his role as well paid spectator.
Next for Charlotte is a visit to Toronto , so maybe Tuiloma can use his free time to check out facilities for the AWs

He was noticeably out of shape for the last AWs call up. Playing at RB needs to be super fit. Time  to come home surely.

Indeed. If its the money and lifestyle in the states that he is enjoying then makes sense to sit on the be bench and pocket the cash. If he wants to look seriously at the WC squad there is a vacancy in Wellington. CB or if payne moves into that position then at RB

I watched that back and I think we were a bit tough on him. He was out of touch, and he’s always been a big boy.
I think most of us judged on the first few touches after he’d flown half the way around the world.

I noticed his passing and other details was really a step up once he got going. He’s still been training as a professional player. He still had cardio fitness, but not game fitness.

His pace has always been a concern for a RB, but, well, it many ways he’s Piper with a bunch of technique. Takes a great dead ball. Scores headers. Used to the USA.

I guess he’s in camp to see if he can fit in. He’s also experienced.

He’s the kind of player who can steal goals.

It was also either him or one of Kirwan or Ingham who have both been released by their clubs.

I expect Elliot will start at RB, with Tuiloma to come on for 20-30 mins each game.
