this is my first post after 11 years of watching the Nix and reading this forum.       What a great night that was.       Rarely have I seen my fellow train passengers so animated and noisy.       At the game I sat alongside a young German bloke-  he was staying for a few days in Wellington on his way home after a holiday in NZ.        You would have thought he was a life long Nix fan- leaping out of his seat, clapping, chanting and cheering as though he was watching his home team back in Germany.      His comments on the standard of match officials were interesting,  "Appalling and biased".     As a one-eyed Nix fan I I could but only agree.

For me,   the signing of the season has to be Steve Taylor.      Judging by his passion and commitment he is not here for a career ending holiday.     And he seems to have given Durante a new lease of life.         The only disappointment was the rather meagre crowd but the ones who were there brilliant and I thought the Yellow Fever were magnificent,  as did the German bloke.      I wonder if the Nix would benefit by signing a big, strong centre forward.    A player with a bit of mongrel about him, not only to hold the ball up but to let the defenders know he was coming for them.       Might take the heat off the little guys up front who are getting clattered each and every game.

Here's wishing all a Happy Christmas and the Very Best for the New Year.         My Christmas may be rather gloomy as it looks as though my beloved Notts County may be heading for oblivion.        One Great Escape to many I fear.
