The Bra girls are part of our group and just felt it was about time equality was maintained as they are all staunch comitted football followers. They've been informed of this thread so will likely get in touch unless they are too embarassed, and yeah they are there for the football. Go the Phoenix !

Not worthy enough, or enough of a 'ratings' winner (we've had the same issues with the Australian media for ages, so don't worry).

Just wait till you get your first "football riot", the TV vans will be lined up around the block.

Don't worry, the main Australian TV channels would do the same? 50,000 at Etihad for MVFC vs Sydney? Nah, look at the kid outside farting on the copper, that's the bit we'll focus on.

We've been ramming the media here for ages to improve the games' coverage. I get this chick's point about Boob Exposure, but geez, really...

Would any Auckland 'bitters' come down and cause trouble there, is there enough friction between those 2 cities to set something off (even if it's a one on one brawl at the pub near the ground?)

No.  There was plenty of Auckland around yesterday and even the 'gray and miserables' happily share the same ground as us for the AW's and at NZFC games.

It should also be remembered there are only about 10 gray and miserables.

We could always arrange for TVNZ to just happen to be therre when it kicked off but they'd be more interested in the boobies!!!

Too small a number to start anything. In saying that, I think there's a bit of a misnomer put on the Melbourne crowd here. It's really only a very small minority (10-15 people at best) that are causing 'concern', and from what I understand, there is a company called Hatamoto that is 'screening' supporters at present.

KP or valeo may say more about this.

Boobs, brawls...ah, sometimes you need entertainment. But look, if that's what it takes for the NZ media to cream themselves, well, it's a worry.

Like I said above, we've had issues here for donkey's years trying to get improved media coverage here. It's still a work in progress.

The media coverage here is actually reasonable when you consider what is against it.

Was funny to see the most riot cops at the Sydney game were assembled around the donut vendor.

Coincidence? I think not.

Good luck to the bra girls, and make sure you fire off Phoenix related sound bites when the interviewer shoves the mic in your face!

There was the time a single bottle got thrown onto the pitch. They were all over that with hooliganism stories.

We'll discuss this another time. You were based in Oz a few years ago (if I remember reading rightly) so depending on where you were you would have a rough idea what goes on here.

It's better here than what it was 5-6 years ago, but still needs some tweaks.

I'm not qualified enough to disagree with you over local NZ media coverage of the game.

KP, were you in Melbourne that time that Channel 9 got their ''plant' Sean Sowerby to go on TV and say he was hurt at the game, he was an employee of theirs apparently.

Here's a link tot he report here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha2bNzcUKH4

There's no such thing as bad media coverage is there ?

I have to laugh at the thread on the T-Shirt thread where the poster would rather have 8 thousand "die hard" supporters than another 16 thousand supporters "turning up". Get real my friend, you should be happy that the non-die hard supporters get off their bum to come and support "your" team. What exam do you have to pass to be a die hard supporter - turn up twice, three times. Get over it. If 35,000 turn up in 2 weeks I hope you consider your cup to be half full and not half empty. Form that 35,000 you might get some "die hards" who buy season tickets and wear their bras in front of you. Which might be nice. Remeber this - football is a minority sport still, we're eclipsing rugby crowds and the tide is turning, open your mind and share.

Yeah, see Pars you've taken what was lighthearted bit of banter as slagging other fans.

Also, the people angsting about 'tittillating TV' are in the main not Phoenix fans but fans of other A-League clubs.

Just saying.

Never mind, Tegal. I got it.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Well we're Fifers so we're not noted for having a pulse. Or winning.

I'd be happy that TVNZ are using the Yellow Fever forum, next stop, sports news in a Phoenix top ...
