A couple of things:

* Can someone update the OP with the link to the page to donate? I can't find it, although that maybe my stupidity as opposed to anything else. Maybe update the thread title to say that the link is in the OP as well.

* I think it would be a good idea if someone from YF attended the game with the family, to provide a bit of additional information to them about the players, history of the club, etc. A lot of these people might know very little about football and the Phoenix (much like most of YF) so it would help get them involved if they know what they are supposed to be cheering for. It would mean that each week someone from YF has to stay sober, cannot abuse the opposition, can't go nuts in the Fever Zone, but I am sure that there would be plenty of knowledgeable people who would sacrifice that for 1 week a season.

Frankie, look at any of Yakcall's posts, he has the link in his signature file.

We'll get the link updated elsewhere too. (I've added it to the first post in the thread)

A match day "host" is a great idea. If they learn about the game, they talk about the game. Thus it grows

Just a thought, just because this money has been donated dosnt mean we have to find ways to spend it all.I really like the idea of making this a permanent thing and extending it to future seasons.I would like to think we come up with a suitable package for matchdays. Then any excess is used to start the next seasons funding.

Any extra could also be used if the family happens to be larger than four then extra tickets could be brought.

Love this idea - I reckon Yakcall's estimates are pretty spot on, so we could make that available to each family each week, and then reinvest anything that doesn't get spent on gamedays (as well as anything extra that was raised) into keeping this going into future seasons?

First there was the original 'Footballs got Talent' in the form of the YF Scholarship

Now there is this. Its needs a catchy name (unless there is one and I have missed it). YFs kicks for kids or something.

This is a cracking initiative and have donated.

So is there a point where we can dare to think about a second family pass?

Should enough dosh actually get raised, why not one ST for RMH and one for Canteen?

A sober YF rep to be with the family is a great idea.

Without sounding mean spirited, perhaps one scarf per family - one for the young person whom is ill, might make them feel even more special. Toss in a match programme too.

This is painful, waiting till 2am when my wages go in so i can donate, time is dragging.

Brandon, you kicked this off and ran with it and Matt you also ran with it. Both are my nomination for Fan of the Year - even after only two games!

Good Morning,

I am happy to do the first duty as Host to the family this weekend, the money donated won't come through until 25th of next month so I am putting the membership on my credit card and will pay for the extras for the 1st couple of families until the money comes in.

I really like how people are excited about this and wanting it to continue, I am more than happy to run it each year and if others want to help in anyway, the more the merrier. I think next year we maybe look at another charity like Canteen, so we change it up.

So if we are wanting to continue, then I do like the idea of 'naming' what we are doing, I don't have any good ideas but just thought I'd let you know I like it.

Lastly, I have spoken with Westpac and they have confirmed the offer (A Westpac Stadium membership experience at a 2014/15 Phoenix A-league football game (excluding Semis or Finals) of your choice including match tickets for two adults and two children (or four adults) with Members’ Club Guest Passes” this includes unreserved seating in the Deloitte Gallery and Deloitte Lounge on Level 4. Plus we’ll also contribute a $50 food and beverage voucher to be used in the Members’ lounge areas.)

So what I would like to do is do this as a raffle, what I was thinking if people are happy with that is I get all the posters printed up and some raffle booklets, I hand them out to you guys say at the backbencher and you take them with you and sell them to friends and at your work place. If we can sell 200 tickets at $2 then we can raise an extra $400 towards this. Would people be happy selling tickets?

Ok, have contacted Westpac again to see if there is any requirements on their end for running the raffle.

Also this morning I have been contacted by the Phoenix home bar Bethel Woods with offer to help, they will discuss what they can do and get back to me, but said if I had any ideas on how they can help to let them know. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything, but if you have any ideas let me know and I will discuss with them.

Great stuff Bethel Woods!

Perhaps bar & meal vouchers for pre and/or post game experience? Pre game could be attractive (in the afternoon) then the Bethel Woods bus to the ground, perhaps? Maybe that could be included as an opt in optional extra?

Or maybe they would like to fund the food and beverage vouchers for at the stadium as their contribution?

Or maybe they could agree to pay for a Yellow Fever t shirt for the kid?

Karma keg a-la Dura's bail money when he said Jeronimo was a cheat?

Put a keg on after the Newy game and then get punters to pay what they want for a pint, proceeds got to the fundraiser?.

So discussed with Bethel Woods and we have the following....

- They will donate $1 for every Carlsberg that we sell on game day this Sunday (last week we sold about 200 but with Labour Day this Monday we are hoping for a big one - especially when the Nix win!)

- They will happily host the family for lunch before the game on us each game day and reserve them seats on the bus down to the game / or invite them along on the walk down to the game

-They  will try (although can't promise this for every game) for Paul Ifill to join them for some of their lunch, have photographs, sign a match day programme / ticket etc as well

So please grab a drink this Sunday (a Carlsberg) and support them!

Fair. But was kinda thinking Bethel could help out with that as their "donation" to the cause. All irrelevant now because their offer of lunch, transport, and Ifill is tops.

And more good news!!! (It keeps coming)

Wellington Phoenix have said if we buy the Family Season Ticket they will upgrade it with Nix Lounge passes. They will also give us 1 free parking pass for each home game.

So that frees up some of the money I had budgeted for parking.

Thanks acj28, I need to get my A into G and organise buying some raffle tickets from somewhere and designing some posters. Westpac is posting me out the prize to raffle off hopefully today, once got that sorted I'll let you guys know and get stuff out to you to sell.

The Dom Post has been CC in on tweets etc so should be more then aware of what we are doing here, so I guess it is there choice if they want to do the story or not.

Hey Matt, truly awesome stuff you're doing - keep it up...

(And now for the filling of the "shit sandwich"...) maybe get some YF into your Bethel Woods banner/poster thingee... it would be great for everyone to be clear this is a YF/fan initiative, not one from BW, or the club.

Massive kudos for all for jumping aboard the wagon Brandon and Matt have provided... FIRE UP!!!
