Don't confuse Karl Dodd with Travis Dodd. I have seen one outlet (I'll try find it) with the name Dodd. Didn't say Karl or Travis, but if he is under contract to us and one of our better performed players, why would we let him go??

Failed at QR, failed in League Two, and now failed at WPFC. Is he up to it?

At best he could hope for a backup role at a new franchise I think. But even then Miron was the one who cut him at QRFC so why would he get him in at GCG?
I don't recall him being cut at QR, he left to play overseas I thought. Classy comments from him about the club though. Before the A League started playing Royce was one of the young QR players that visited the youth football matches every Saturday handing out posters and giving autographs. I have a soft spot for him and wished he'd had more opportunity and/or did more with his opportunities at the Nix. Hope he gets a spot with one of the Queensland teams or hooks up with North Pine.

Terry, Tony and Ricki take a bow. You are making the tough calls that need to be made but players are leaving with dignity and their self respect in tact and with the best wishes of the club and fans. That's the sort of organisational culture and team support that will attract players to join the nix in the future.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

No, he was one of the strikers released when they struggled to score in season one. It was Michael Baird that went to Romania by choice (despite having a year left on his deal).

Brosque left despite a new contract offer, Brownlie, Richter and Tollenaere (sp?) were released, and Baird left of his own accord just before the end of season one.

I read a live aust news stream this morn that said it was definitely Carl Dodd that had signed for the Galaxy.  Now i cant find the source.

As stated we are looking for a striker, a right back and a midfielder. We are close with a few and hopefully over the next few weeks we will have it all sorted.

Brownlie was crap from day 1. I was surprised he got any game time at all.

When I saw him playing in Masterton against the under 20s he looked like he was just a local player they bought in to make up the numbers. Rubbish, glad to see him gone.

Tony, could I be so bold as to suggest Alen Marcina for the Striking position (or Jan Koller who is 34 and with Nurnberg I think), Leilei Gao for midfielder, and I'll let you choose the right-back.

Leilei Gao was one of the few truly talented players to play for the Knights,  would most certainly be a good signing.

Yes, but he won't come. With some Finnish club and playing in the UEFA Cup.

Marcina is at Vancouver Whitecaps. He's a great player IMO.

Do you have any intentions to sign Sigmund or not?

Good news Tony, Karl's a good player.

Thanks for your feedback in this thread mate, as a supporter of several different NZ teams in Australian competitions it is extremely refreshing to have such an honest and upfront leader.  It can only set a bright transparent culture for our wonderful club.

PS:  Yes, Gao is the left sided player from the Knights, he was a very good player for mine.

Is Abel Xavier a right-back?  Imagine him for the Nix!  He'd tear Griffiths limb from limb.

Our biggest concern is defence, so Abel Xavier gets my vote.

Come to think of it, he could be a central defender, a position we have covered.

I rate Sigmund, but I'd rather see him at another A-league team.  Which clubs have made him offers?

i dunno ask News. I think its a bit harsh to tell someone to hold tight and wait when it is their livelihood (not that he is currently a pro)
