BS about Marco and Kosta

AJ13:

"Ricki had this mindset with a few players actually, even our own. He never saw Kosta or Rojas as being good enough. Then they go to aussie and start performing instantly. The same way of thinking is what kept Lochead and Christie in the AWs.

If it werent for Kosta and Rojas' success elsewhere he probably wouldnt have played many other youth, like Fenton. "

Everyone in the Transfer thread said that this argument has been done previously, but obviously not.

Marco was injured for a year, then was on the bench and came into the starting 11 after an injury to Ifill. Then he was offered a contract, but turned it down.

Someone was arguing that Ricki played him off the bench and as injury cover and then kept him cos he had to, not because he had taken his chance and forced his way into the team after that opportunity. Ricki can't win. If you get an opportunity and then keep your place on merit you HAVE forced your way into the team.

Marco WAS performing for us. Kosta wasn't. One became a starter in our team, one didn't.

Are you saying that Ricki should have dropped Ifill for Marco earlier?

It's absolutely not true to say that he never saw Kosta or Rojas as being good enough. AJ you really should go and be Sam Worthington's research assistant.

FWIW I fully agree with you martinb.

But everyone has their camps and will argue as such. So far down the track people probably have fixed views on it.

Neither of these players are Phoenix players. This is in the wrong section.

I also don't know why you couldn't just have quoted the post in the original thread rather than create a new thread entirely.
