Sorry to come down so hard but I dont think their up to scratch really. Were only looking at another 10 players, with 3 import players to fill. So would you put either of these 2 in the top 7 we could sign?

The top game on the list is the one in question. File type for the video is a bit wiered, many may not be able to play it.

Average.

Hopefully Azza Barro signs. Campbell Banks is OK but last time I saw him he still had glue on his boot. An Im not talking about his first touch. He doesnt have enough passing vision. Good finisher though.

Its no longer a problem.

i heard when he was at the kingz ages back that he couldnt earn enough money to get a haircut?
has anyone else heard about that?
poor guy, i used to really rate his unorthodoxy and i think hes a good technician but theres something about his play that is not a-league level.

You can't have a target man striker, which is what he is, whose first touch is about 2 metres from his body. If he had half Emblens touch he would be OK.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

both of them are not up to the standard.

Now, a Grant Young or Keryen Jordan maybe!!

campbell banks is class, but very individual. He played for olympic a few games last year and at training ran through the whole team it was crazy. He was smashing them top corner. But on the pitch missed sitters.

If Jordan could spend some time on his feet, rather than lying on the ground or on the physio's bench.

Here's a question.  Would Jordan and Young count as locals or imports ?  Did we get to the bottom of what allows you to be counted as domestic ?

Also, if they count, then surely Totori could count as local ?

No to both.
Campbell is too slow, lightweight and inconsistent.
and Banks is too slow, lightweight and inconsistent.
Both have been tried and found wanting in the NSL.
The A League is three divisions higher than the NSL.
Sorry. The NZFC is their level.
When you are thinking whether the NZFC players are up to it think of it this way.
The NZFC is lower than the Conference League, perhaps Conference South or Rymans League.
The A League is about League One, Lower end of Championship level.
There is a reason that players are playing in those divisions, it is usually pace first, strength second, skills third.
The A League is five yards faster, the players are twice as skilful and the players are physically much bigger and strongerthan the NZFC.
Remember the first Knights side, Collett was a skilful quick ex-ManYoo player, but he was not strong enough and was always knocked off the ball, the same with that Caravello, quick and skilful but weak on the ball.
And they were better than Campbell.
Christie doesn't have the skill or the pace, but he is strong.
And Campbell Banks is also way too weak and that has been exposed time and again.

Cause he did do anything for us. Got him for the Chautum Cup and he played sh*t!!! Then got called up to play for the Knights i think. Useless.

That is a good question. Is it decided on your passport? Does permanent residence count? If you represent a country at youth level? Good question to ask Phoenix management.

Think you'll find he got an All Whites call up where he scored against Charlton.

I believe the requirement to not be considered a foreign player is citizenship i.e. NZ passport. Therefore both NZ and Australian citizens are local players for the Phoenix and anyone else will be considered a foreign player. Interestingly NZ players without Australian citizenship are not considered local players at other A League clubs. Not problematic at present but will make it more difficult in the future for NZ players to play at other clubs unless they gain Aussie citizenship or are good enough to fill a foreign player spot.

I totally disagree with this rule. New Zealanders should be classed as locals for teams in Australia as well. Shame someone doesn`t have the time or money to challenge this rule in a court.

Agreed but until it becomes a live issue in the eyes of the players its a difficult case to push.

They can't due to AFC regulations pertaining to ACL player registrations (i.e. as Australian clubs, it's Australian passport or you count under the foreign player thing).
The only reason the FFA was able to change it for Wellington is due to the club's inability to qualify for the AFC.

One Cap One goal, not bad, but when he played for us he looked like a headless chicken. Couldnt score in a brothel.
