Somebody at work just told me that Celtic is a possibility for a game against the nix...
I don't want to throw pie in the sky rumours around, but has anyone else heard anything about this? Any thoughts on it?

Now THAT would be an exhibition match worth getting!

Would be at least close to a sellout also

Allegedly

Don't think so.

Don't be so negative.  Even if we only get a few thousand, think of the benefits the team would get from learning the skills and tactics.

But Maradona could teach us all the skills and tactics for that kind of money....

Yeah but whats the street value of coke these days?

The cost of that 'equipment' and all those pies would push the cost over $2million

Celtic would be awesome. Or Blackburn cos of Nelsen? I'd love to see Santa Cruz live.

I don't get this. How much can you really learn about "skills and tactics" (lol) from one game? sh*t all, thats how much.

Didn't it say in the Dom Post that Celtic HAD initally expressed an interest, which implies that interest has now gone.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

There's always one that has to ruin a good thread.  Maybe the Mighty Thistle could come and teach our boys some skills and tactics?

Now that's a cracking idea. A massive crowd of 48 cheering the boys on. Quality

It will bring back memories of the All Whites vs Dunfermline match at the stadium which barely got 48.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Ah, but that was Dunfermline, HN.

A head count of 48 equals 24 Dunfermline supporters!

Hmm, sounds about the same crowd you would get with 24 Jags fans, plus their life partners (usually called Campbell, Farquhuar, Tarquin or such)

Yeah, but the IQ of the crowd would be far in excess of what you'd normally get at NZ sporting fixtures

Mind you the catering would have to improve for a Thistle game. Do they sell Earl Grey, caviar and foie gras at the ROF?

Not sure, but not doubt plenty of banter, as that's what the Jags fans would turn up for!

Thought for one dreadful moment that was going to be a clip of you and I at the ROF (and various watering holes in the Wellington CBD!)

It'd be brilliant, i reckon it could be close to a sellout it'd just need a decent amount of coverage.
I couldn't wait to see Naka and McGeady it'd be awesome, i'd have tae wear my Celtic shirt, but I'd have my nix shirt underneath.
All prob rumours tho :(

My understanding is that Celtic are playing in Australia during the off season, so maybe this will firm up the rumour of a game here.
