Due to a tragic chain of events I ended up having to listen to the Perth game on the radio instead of down there live at the Ring. The crowd was LOUD! The commentators loved it when a good chant got going - which seemed like most of the time - no worries in the noise department!

Agreed. Maybe it's quieter down in Aisle 50 with the wee kids

I've got friends who have only just started going in the past two or three games. They've only been to rugger-ball previously and they say the chanting is amazing. So it's still well above the norm for NZ either way.

Hmm interesting...I thought v Adelaide and perth games were the better games as more people joined in cause they already had heard the chants and now gott'n used to them.

YF was defenatly louder in the Perth game either of the first 2.

Rumor has it. Or my friend told me at the Perth game that he saw egg chaser Piri Weepu at the stadium watching the win. Anyone else see him?

One of my big gripes had been the silence after the opposition managed to sneak a goal, but I was delighted to hear the volume shoot up after Perth scored. I watched the game on the box and was (again) impressed by the crowd nosie.

One of the egg-chasers at work said he was listening to the Perth game on the radio and couldn't believe how loud the crowd was.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

As someone who has sat out the Fever zone at every game, and sat or bother sides 9aisle 21 & 23) i can safely say, the Perth game was the loudest and most insync game yet and did it sound awesome? f**ken oath it did.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Could even hear the chants as we were walking along the concourse just before half time (didn't make it to the Ring of Fire until then as flying back from Auckland).  It's also bloody terrifying if you have to use the ladies as they are right under the Fever Zone - especially when they start banging on the corrugated iron!!  It seemed a lot louder this week - probably because most people in the Zone now know the chants!

its slowley getting better, just we are still way out of sync with each other. There seems to be a war between the top and bottom of YF zone, Once this is sorted we will be better.

Also when ever drunk people start chants they go out of sync pretty quickly

one thing to improve is going nuts after a goal is scored we are still pretty crap in this department

i think come november we will be the best fans in the A-league

Are you on drugs? It definetly was not the Greek Fever on TV. Dont be so ridiculous.

Chanting has got better, not worse.

um i also believe we were the most in sync we have ever been also..so dont know where people are getting this from. That is something that will get better and better as the season goes on.

We have been poor just after we concede so far this season,  but after perth scored last week, the noise actually lifted, so where are improving there too

we we're the sh!t and we're going to get better
they have a microphone right in front of the yf zone for the t.v so we can't be that quiet on the box
in fact i've heard the mixing  on the t.v it's always up and down anyway, i've watched the replays to check us out

watched the game in Perth and the noise was bloody loud.
They said 10,127 crowd it sounded like 20,000.
To all you Wellington Phoenix supporters congratulations on the support you have given to the team you are doing us all proud over here in Aussie.
You are the talk of the town on how well you have supported this team.
I have even had one of my english mates making a point of watch the Phoenix when they play.
his reasoning is because they are playing a great brand of football and that the crowd are unbelievable.
He has even said that he will come with me when the Phoenix play the Glory in Perth to support them.

I can't tell which zone is making the noise when I watch on the tele, only know that the volume is building and I wish I was there

Is there a possibility that the media turn down the crowd noise through the mixer so the announcers can be heard? I listened to the Glory game through the Perth radio streaming feed and the crowd noise was pretty muted, however having been at the Adelaide game I knew that the Fever chanting is awesome, so was quite surprised to hear the difference over the "radio". If you really want to know what it's like get to a game, the media is a poor substitute, the real thing is wicked.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

There is only one zone and that's the Fever Zone.

The YF zone can always improve, but parts of it are pretty timid. Although, i watched last nights game and the roar fans were pathetic almost as woeful as our performance

Yeah, it's what they do with all sports. The sound is coming in from different feeds, so the sound technicians have to set the balance on the mix. It's much worse when you have international coverage commentated on from studio-based commentators, common with US feeds, as the mix balance is effectively set with less sound channels.

They also use lip mikes which basically wrap round their gobs so it keeps all the other noise out.
