Jeez, some strong criticism from Bunce in the article on front page.

Perhaps he's pi*sed cos Herbert didn't offer him a contract

it sounds like the relationship soured on the tour and before there was a chance of getting a contract.

it was also interesting to see that ricki herbert stated in his team list press release that bunce was overlooked, whilst bunce said today that he had made himself unavailable.

maybe kiwi canary could shed a bit more light on this issue?

I won the World Cup on FIFA 2000 with Buncey scoring a shedload of goals (I think he got 6 in the final) so have always had a soft-spot for him.

If he fulfilled the potential he showed on that drunken, playstation afternoon, in real life, he would have been some player.

Jesus! Who were we playing in the final? Norfolk Island?

Che Bunce sounds like a 3 year-old girl throwing her teddy out of the pram when she didn't get her own way. He needs to get over his problems as we could have done with him in the team.

I don't know. Buncey strikes me as a passionate player who loves to pull on the white jersey. I reckon it would have been a tough decision to make.

Maybe there is some truth to what he's saying.

Yes i think hes just trying to prove a point to herbert. For some reason i see him coming out and playing for the whites anyway.

It's disappointing that the bitterness cant be managed a bit better, Stuff happens and it seems that these guys (Noah included) cant help themselves but have a dig.

Would be nice for them to step away without trying to undermine the Phoenix, even if that is not what they intended. Show some class

Yeah it's tough I know both these guys (Che & Noah) reasonably well - they're both top draw blokes - Noah mentioned being lied to and being f*cked around when I talked to him about Ricki/Phoenix.

It sounds like the south american tour was orgainsed shockingly i share some of Bunces concerns.

Personally, I think Che would have been a great signing for the Phoenix, it sounds to me that Ricki thought otherwise and Che aint happy.

It just amazes me how just about nothing in NZ football can get started without someone having a dig somehow. It has become an all to familiar happening and when it starts to happen with my team it really pisses me off. Lets hope Ricky and Terry along with us supporters can stuff it back down some of the doubters throats.

Was nice to hear Noah give us a plug on talk sport this morning.

Shame really...I was picking Bunce would be at the core the Phoenix defence and also filling the ranks for the All Whites. He was very solid for the Knights...I think this is a sad loss as we don't appear to have the depth in NZ to lose players of his experience.

He is clearly the scapegoat from the South American tour, even though Steven Old was just as much to blame for leaking goals yet one of these players is signed - go figure!

Thats ok but how does that have anything to do with the Phoenix?  I think the point about undermining the game here is a fair one, we're all in this together!!  Sad really, he's done a great job for us (both Knights and All Whites).

By the way, Noah has signed with Gisborne City in the Central League!!

Che must like his money and doesn't like it when someone takes it away from him.

He didn't travel to Melbourne when there was the pay issues at the Knights.

He turned down a Scottish Club to go to more money at Coventry, sat on the bench for a few games and was then told by the new coach that he was excess baggage.

Gets dropped for the coming tour.  He didn't seem to be fit for the last one and hasn't played for a while.

I would imagine most tours by NZ football would be realitively disorganised. One reason is; we are not used to them. Good on Ricki and NZ Football for getting us those games in the first place. Take away Killen, Elliott and Nelsen. Of course we are going to lose against those teams.

I think he has burnt some bridges and it is not very postive for a nation that needs to pull together to improve the football standard.

If we build it, they will come...

I'm dubious about the truth of the whole of the article after he nominated Dugdale and Waitt as his two best coaches

That was definitely not Che's choice.  He was at the centre of a fight with the FFA as the players rep.  He'd have been there in seconds if the FFA had fronted enough seats to get the whole team there.

Che has enough caps and tours with NZ to know when one is a shambles.  He's done the back blocks of Europe and the pacific for the country and if he says it is the worst he's seen then it must have been pretty bad.

He gave his opinion. Some people won`t like it. Would it be better if he spouted a few cliChes?

Given that the media here just love it when football shoots itself from the inside constantly, for me let  them spout as many as they like.Would prefer that to the constant potshots that get taken.Yep he has given good service but i really dont see the need to air some of the obvious things that happened. Just seems some people just cant wait to say i told you so if things dont pan out as we all hope.

Very interesting that the two best performed Kiwi players at the Knights have now fallen out with Ricki H. I hope it is not a bad omen for the Phoenix.

If Ricki's the sort of coach who only likes yes men around him, it is a bad sign.

Or maybe Ricki is the sort of coach hwho won't put up with sh*t from anyone

If things do "pan out as we all hope". He will get bagged. That is the risk you take when you give an opinion. The safe thing for him to say would be nothing. I`m sure Che will want the Phoenix to be a success.
