Can you get it done either 1 metre x 1 metre square, or 1 metre x 2 metres? or can they alter the sizing to 1 metre x 50 cm? Or is the 900 x 450mm the max size they can screen print? 
 
That way if someone wanted to make a giant (3 metre x 3 metre chequered flag) they could stitch several together... I guess you can still stitch several together, and it could be 2.7 metres by 2.7 metres if it had to be.
 
If you can do 1 metre by 1 metre I will buy 9. At 900 x 450mm I'd either get 12 or 18.
 
I can build my own 3 metre x 3 metre chequered flag buy sewing panels together at the following costs:
 
Fabric $6 a metre x 10 metres = $60
Sewing fees: 1 bottle of wine
Cutting chequers to size - a bit of time.
 
So cost wise I am not sure. It would be easier, for sure, but for a big flag the chequers might look better bigger?
 
By way of copmparision, you can buy 1 metre x 2 metre (I think that's the dimensions, I will check) Phoenix flags at Ryos - the large yellow ones with a Phoenix logo, for $25.

Going to order the UK ones, seems easiest.

If anyone wants one as well PM me before the end of the day and I'll them to my order, $18 delivered for one, gets a bit cheaper for each one after that.

those black/yellow marine signals someone put in the other thread might be available from boatie type websites perhaps? Just a thought, not sure how much they'd cost

If you got a St David's, you could make it into a reverse of the Union Jack flag posted earlier relatively easily... i.e. a Black field, yellow cross and yellow and white diagonals...

I've ordered eight 152cm x 91cm black and yellow checkered flags, not sure how long they'll take to arrive from the UK though...I'd say they'll be here for Gold Coast.
