Looks like Tranmere's fans don't know yet, be interesting to see their reaction
looking at their message board, some are not that upset as he is injury prone. Although they are sad that he has had so many injuries as they rate him.

Hoping you stay free of injuries Chris!!
yays! i've been out of the loop - so we've got him and Diego, any others?
who's leaving apart from Smeltz? Dodd? yeah i know I should just go through the transfer speculation volumes I-IX but nah.
WE MUST GET ANOTHER STRIKER AS TARGET MAN & COVER, COS ONE UP FRONT DON'T WORK!
Greenacre is more our equivalent of the Fury's signing of Jeremy Brockie..
Because Fowler is a marquee, and Greenacre isn't.
Really? Know something we don't?
jeez, what a rousing reception from the Fever

I wouldn't say he is injury prone. He has had two back to back injuries. But in previous years at tranmere he has played in just about all games.
Chris Greenacre... come on down...
Sounds an impressive signing. Hope he can boot in the goals for us is well!!!

Wow! This signing really came as a surprise! Who knew we were targeting Greenacre after all!
It is good to have it confirmed though!

Excellent signing - proven goal scorer at a very good level, great work ethic and a team player = fan's favourite.
Sign the 2nd striker (target man) and we're cooking.

...he has a reputation for being mobile and doing a lot off the ball as well. High workrate.
If Ronnie Moore rates him then that's a GOOD RECOMMENDATION.

1 down, 1 to go.
Great! This long off season is finally getting better.
Good vibes about this guy, he sounds like the type that will fit in well in the nix!!
Welcome to Welly Chris!!

Anyboy under 40 y/o won't remember this.
bloody happy ae, should be good. just what the nix needs. great replacement for smeltz, seems like a similar sort of player. now someone who can hold up the ball. krishna doesnt come under that catagory does he?

Well, he knows how to score goals. Just hope he gets quality balls from the others.
Good stuff....albeit he is 30 plus and injury prone. At one goal in three games that should give us at least 9 aka Smeltz so we still need another striker and a spare..for injuries Perhaps another attacking midfielder would do the trick.
Great news.....its a good signing IMO. Scored over a hundred goals at not a bad level.
He sounds like a good pro. Admits he's more of a poacher/goal scrambler type striker but thats OK. What it does mean is the phoenix attacking midfield will have to step up and make sure they create lots of good chances for Chris to finish off.
Interesting Ricki is on the lookout for a target man....if we find our man then things are looking great for this season.
Wonder if Eugene helped him in being convinced to join the aleague

Great goals.. but they are from 3/4 years ago..

Good signing. Maybe a little old. but hey if he can play then good. Doesn't seem like a cocky asshole either, Hopfully the nix can get some good press in the paper or the news now.

And a former Man City player.
I Smeltz Greenacre
f**k yeah, bout time this was confirmed.
Welcome to Wellington Chris- bludy great to have you here and on a two year deal.
hope you rip the A-league to shreds and show those over paid hussies Fowler, Smeltz and Porter some real class.
great to have you on board...
and top work Tony. sounds like the man for the job. great to hear about the signature.
Great signing! He's going to tear it up in the A-League. Looks like a hard worked and great finisher. Lots of experience.
[QUOTE=2ndBest]I wouldn't say he is injury prone. He has had two back to back injuries. But in previous years at tranmere he has played in just about all games.
Quality record and strikes pre 08/09 season stats but only starting 9 in nearly a full season albeit with 10 off the bench is a "worry"..and only 2 goals in 19. Being a Boro fan I can be bit negative around strikers pedigree versus performance of course...
Bring the season on....
Six goals in Ten appearances, if the injuries stay away he could be good for us ----but how come Fowler goes to Queensland & we get CG.
WE MUST GET ANOTHER STRIKER AS TARGET MAN & COVER, COS ONE UP FRONT DON'T WORK!

Last year I was loving the Lay Lay signing.
Finally get some news. I'm happy with the signing.
