I've been suprisingly impressed by Plodder Christie. His very calm and steady when defending at the back and very very good on the attack. He overlaps so well and can provide a decent ball.

Class player, should be kept at right back for the time being.

In another thread, you said keep the personal stuff out, but its pretty hard when you post like this.

Smeltz wasnt as bad as you make out , you seem to have a downer on him, hope he plays as "badly" next week and scores again, to make it 3hepatitis2007-09-22 22:36:51

U Rrrrssss!

I reckon he's done really well at Right Back and certainly kept his cool and played his part in the Deserved Home win that wasn't. We know that ball crossed the line! Christie has held up under sometimes immense pressure and i am really pleased for him.

From were i was standing it looked like Christie was having trouble finding his teammates with his passing tonight.

At times , Yes. But many times it was due to lack of support. No excuse tho. Still think hes been awesome

Lack of support is one thing, but he seemed off target even with open players. He did well defensivley, i just feel his distribution needs a little work.

He isnt the only one who needs to work on that area of the game, have been a bit disappointed at how often some of our guys fail to deliver the ball, maybe it will improve as they get used to  the type of leads that are made.

yes Christie has found his feet well. Good to see.
Lochead is such a natural left back it amazes me- I think he could play at the highest level

Christie has looked good at rb, kind of like hibbert from everton,  d. midfielder come rb. Solid defender who can push forward.

Would like to see him to work on is passing a bit more, failed to find feet a couple of times, this been said it didn't look like he always had options. If in doubt long ball it don't try to be too fancy.

I agree he looked sound defensively, was quite impressed with his performance. But true that his passing has been sub-standard. Gave teh ball away cheaply a few times, which seemed to leave us exposed to a couple of counter attacks. But overall, I thought hes had a good solid couple of performances

I've been very pleasantly surprised by Christie at right back.

I agree Christie has done a decent job - and was pretty sound last night on top of delivering the cross for Felipe's goal and getting forwarding from time to time. He has scrambled well.

Still nervous when he gets exposed one on one - didn't happen so much last night, but sometimes i feel it's a touch too easy for opposition players to find space to deliver a cross or get away a shot when he is defending.

Lochhead has been superb

Jeremy Christie is playing realllllly well lately and Ferrante but hopefully he learns how to connect better on the edge of the box caz thats the only thing thats wrong in his game at the moment.

yeah Ferrante needs to keep practicing his shooting, though he might have to make way for Elrich

Lochead & Moss are early but strong candidates for player of the season! Despite the final scores etc, i just love watching this lot, the positives far outway the odd wayward pass or offside. You can really see the potential in some of these players. An exciting future ahead for some!

He has been class at right back, very calm on the ball and puts in a decent cross.

I don't think you can really blame him for a couple of passes going astray, its not easy when theres no real right-mid ahead of him.

yeah lochead was fantastic going forward once again. Was I the only person to notice that not only did he supply the  cross for smeltz's winner, but that he actually had to cut inside and send it in off his (weaker) right foot? And with the overall standard of our crossing (I'm looking at daniel in particular here) has been sort of lacking, lochead's efforts seem even more impressive. It's an area we really have to work on as Smeltz (and Coveny when he comes on) are really very dangerous in the air.

Oh yeah, and why doesn't lochead take the corners (esp as Daniel is one of our better headers as well)??? This is something that has been bothering me all season...
