I was referring to Irish interview not any nz ones. Like he hasn't been here long but they asked the question twice and both times he didn't mention how long he'd been here etc he just changed the subject.

Didn't he fly in on the 2nd, do his medical then fly out with the team on the 3rd? He's probably spent more time in Australia than New Zealand at this point.

In the presser, he made a comment about New Years being pretty good here so I'm guessing he was here the week before he signed for medicals etc.

Said "what's not to love about Wellington" in the post match interview, and that he had barely spent any time here so didn't know the place well. Puts that speculation to bed then

Also - how good was he!

Think he is fast going to become my favourite nix player. Hope we sign him beyond this season.

He put in two crosses last night that deserved goals and we were a bit unlucky. Krishnas bullet header was inches wide from one. I note too, he did his bit defending too. A very big unit that we have been missing for some years. I hope he learns to love Wellington as much as fans are definately going to love him for his efforts.

On his instagram stories he keeps showing his view outside the window and telling his fans how beautiful it is, so I'd be surprised if he hadn't fallen in love.

Can't have been that bad, he stayed 2 seasons. Better than Molvania.

Bialystock looks a pleasant enough city - esp if you like your culture, history etc. Winters would be a challenge.

Many Europeans may unkindly say that NZ is Buttfudge Nowhere, at the bottom of the globe. Most of the Nix's overseas pros, have returned to their homelands. Greeny & Ifill being the exceptions.

1C today that's a heatwave in my book

It does look like a nice enough city.

Yeah I was surprised (pleasantly) to see it on 3 news.  Although, in fairness, they're not usually too slow with Nix news, but it was still good to see, especially since it wasn't after a game.  RNZ however, especially their online content completely ignores them.  Club are definitely trying.

Fan of Newshub but sometimes their football coverage is pretty iffy at best. Made no mention of the CCM game whatsoever the night it was on, and noticed one of the new guys doing sports likes to make a lot of diving/rolling around comments which can't be a good image for all these prospective Nix followers (rugby fan on the other thread etc)

I write once every season to RNZ to formally complain about their cargo cult mentality / bias / in ignoring A-League (despite many Kiwis playing there and not just for the Nix) in favour of faithful reporting of EPL which in some RNZ sport editor's mind is the only definition of football that is allowed on RNZ unless it is an AW game.  They comment on Chris Wood which is fair enough, but why would say Kosta not merit a mention, let alone the whole Nix team (they do report the Nix game results in news bulletins).

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I spent a few months on & off in Peru last year. I'm guessing there is about 3-5 Peru national team players in the MLS.

Often (esp when the European leagues were in their offseason) the lead item on the sports segment of Peru TV news, was highlights of whatever MLS games these Peruvians were playing in.

Quite a lot of coverage of the MLS in South America.

8 Kiwis played in the MLS in 2019.

Yet I doubt a NZ TV station dedicated a minute to that league, even when Tuiloma was sitting on the bench in the MLS Cup final, in front of 80,000 in Atlanta.

Top class effort by The Sheriff.  Definitely gonna subscribe. Tell him tho that an Irish lad that doesn't swear just ain't right.

Would of been good to do assessment of how first 2 games went, but not sure if would be allowed to. Anyways overall a good 31 mins well worth it.
