nah don’t think he will be around next year. Didn’t see enough of him
Cillian "The Sheriff" Sheridan
I didn't see anything that would say keep him and tie down an import spot
Yeah, it's a odd one. He genuinely looked ok, decent touches and running good lines. For whatever reason though, he just didn't seem to gel with our setup. I'd be surprised if he stayed too.
The way he started things off when he was subbed on away to WSW, I thought we had an absolute gem... But he really had no other shining moments.
I think of him as an ineffective version of Peter Crouch.
Didn't help that Roy and Williams were on absolute fire when he was first brought in to the team environment
The way I see it, he'll probably go home for a couple of months to see the missus then will return to trial under Ufuk. No guarantees but he'll have the chance I reckon.
Also he has the same agent as Sapreet so that will help.

Eh, if he doesn't want to trial he can go tbh. Love the guy, but his pedigree didn't show in the majority of his performances this season. If he wanted to stay at the club, should put the club before his own pride, this goes for any player.
Call it trial, training, observation period. Truth of the matter is that he would count as an import so it's unlikely he'll be retained as it is. He might like to take his chances though. I for one wouldn't mind keeping him in the squad as he's shown good skills and versatility which would come in handy. The beauty of appointing a coach the day after the season ends is that he can already have those conversations with the players and work on his retention and recruitment strategy from day 1.
Its hard one to call because that import slot could be used on an ST that may be a lot more prolific than Sheridan but also I don't think we ever used Sheridan to his game nor had the quality service for him.
Sheridan was dominant in the air, could reliably hold the ball up, protect it, and get it on into good spaces for others up front - I thought he was very good at linking things together. From what I saw his own off the ball runs were incisive and dangerous and the spaces he seemed to find were great. There was just a small problem that hardly anyone ever seemed to pass to him at those times. He only ever got late opportunities off the bench of a few minutes so his cumulative time on the pitch probably only amounted to a couple of games. People say he wasn't productive but honestly what opportunity did he really have? I hope we can give him another season and that Talay can get more from him than Rudan did.

Rudan got players to fit how he wanted to play and was unsentimental with those who didn't fit- Tratt, Butters, Doyle. I hope we aren't going to sign players who might work and only sign players the boss likes and will be useful in his system.
Sheridan was unlucky- laid on a couple of unconverted chances, hit a couple of posts, worked hard- but has not shown the results his first game might have suggested. Goals and wins.
Cacace, Singh, Rufer and Krishna have quite a good understanding. Maybe pre-season might do this for the Sheriff? Have to see.
I want to see us do well- if Talay thinks he's part of that, fine. Otherwise also fine.
If Krishna leaves, I think keeping Sheridan may not be a terrible idea.
Just saw the man himself in the supermarket, gave him a wave and the obligatory “I’ll see you see next season”

Saw Krishna in town with his wife today, but they were chatting so didn't want to disturb them. Presume sherry never gave you any info? ?
Check our his story on Instagram for premium content of taking the piss of rhyan grant. Great stuff

did you check out his basket? Was he buying a big 1kg of cheese and 2 litre milk etc? or just enough to last him a few days??
He's vegan so doubt he bought either ?

I just noted the box of Coroner (Corona?), I couldn’t think of any planter based quips about drinking hops quick enough. We were both at different checkouts and he was finishing up as I got there.

Well bugger. Guess Sheridan was a short term thing for depth. As far as I know his girlfriend was still overseas so might’ve always been the plan.

Same plan as his gaffer then?
Hope that another A league club doesn't pick up Sheridan. I think in this league with regular game time he could be very good and we could very well regret letting him go.
Still holding out hope he'll be back at some stage as I really liked him. I thought he was fast, had good ball control and linked up well with Krishna. He'll never be a Tovoinen like visa player but I would have like to see him throughout a season.
At least hopefully he'll keep at his poddy so I can follow new developments.
His poddy was effin' terrible, let's be real
I enjoyed it. He probably won't win a Pulitzer price for it but it was refreshing to hear a professional footballer talk about his everyday life

Same. He's just a bit dry and said a few comments in the first ep which put me off.
He was gold
should have been invited on the fever pod
