i'd just like to acknowledge the great effort that you guys put in to sign our new players. They were clearly well screened for professionalism and work ethic and are proving to be an invaluable boost to our team's spirit andgeneral quality.

They appear to have helped lift the confidence of the team and I look forward to watching the combinations flourish throughout the season.

Good stuff guys, it all starts from off the field and you have given us a running start this year thanks to savvy signings.

Yip another big thumbs up.
If Chen turns out top notch then we really have done exactly what we aimed to do.
Heres hoping Rojas gets his shot

Great thread, over three seasons the club have built an increasingly competitive side, learnt from their mistakes and this season we look like a real threat.
You know we belong together...

I think we will have to bring in more like these signings. A league is on the way up and we don't want to be left behind.

+1 to this thread.

Hopefully now that Greenacre has scored a couple, and Ifill looks the goods, the media can finally stop going on about losing Smeltz in every article!

They nearly managed this last year. Looking at Porter and Smeltz combine for Gold Coast suggests that last season could have been very different. I gues that's the problem with a salary cap and a strict limit on squad size. One bad or disinterested, senior signing can leave a big hole in the team.

Is it me or even at our last home game, there was a buzz. Displays by our new signings have given us all the feeling that the club can kick on to better things. No more dropping our guts when we go down. This team has some spirit, hence we've made comebacks in our three games so far. Some of the football has been great and playing 2 or 3 up front has made for a lot of excitement.

Sure thing about well done Tony, Ricki and Terry but also a BIG round of applause for the players attitudes too. The new arrivals have fitted in nicely and they show glimpses of some real potential.

On that note (I know this should be in the chants section). How about some "We love you Phoenix we do" followed immediately by "Phoenix til i die" chants a la the other striped team (Hull) at the next match.

Buzzzzzzz!

Seriously they did very well. Trialled a whole bunch of players to find the perfect fit and it has totally worked.
Crowther seems capable to fill the boots but is also youth which is a bonus.
Greenacre is a true professional and a hungry goalscorer who runs his ass off every week.
Ifill is full of energy and we will totally be able to use him as a target for players to give the ball to.
Diego is the attacking minded player we have always needed
Rojas is very young and full of potential and has got years to develop
And Chen will hopefully prove to be quick and give our two up front a run for their money.

I can't really think of anyway our recruiting could be much better, we aimed to sign 3 strikers, a creative player, a keeper, and two more youth players with the ability to play.
And we've done all of it.
Well done management
