spooky!
Hi.
This was an outstanding use of our time
Not applies with apples. I think he was a winger when he began and a portion of those games were in Europe
Isn't this guy meant to be a striker?
I assume you're replying to me and it's as apples to apples as you're going to get. They are both Australian winger / strikers and Wikipedia even lists them as almost the same height. Also; David Williams scored 14 goals in his first 94 games in the A-league. And the next season was the top scorer at his club. He was a couple of years older by this point though.
It looks like you base your footballing knowledge on wiki.
I imagine you think Hudson is a good manager as well
By the way if you scroll your wiki page a little further down, you will also note Williams payed for Australia before this time as well.
So it's not as apples as apples as you portray

My footballing knowledge comes from a variety of sources, at least I try not to make personal attacks in my posts when I'm feeling defensive.
well the only source you indicated was wiki, if you actually do have more then I'm all ears
I seriously hope we are not looking at Watson. Thats the epitome of having no ambition as a club

I dot not think the club is looking at Watson, unless YF idle musings are now genuinely guiding Welnix recruitment.
Always had a soft spot for him.
Thought he was a decent target man, just played in some really poor NIX teams so struggled to make an impact. That been said, having played footy as long as has, the man should not how to hold a run and avoid being offside so much.
I have a soft spot for him but I thought he was so poor for TW last year after being released. Came across as lazy and feeling like he was too important to play in the Handy, especially when on the bench. That being said he's doing well in aussie but I hope we're looking for someone better.

Interesting that some people who are anonymous in the Handy do better in one of the NPLs, viz. Mohammad Awad.

This would confirm my quiet suspicion that our Handy comp is actually better than expected, in comparison to NPL. That is especially when money and resources available are also taken into account.

Are you saying Mo Awad was anonymous in the Handy Prem this season?

Of players signed from the Handy Prem (not incl WeeNix), what approx ratio would you judge have been successful, as opposed to be a bit of a failure?
Rieria, Sigmund & Krishna all successes.
Totori, Gulley & Watson not successes.
I'm sure I'm missing a heap more.
How does that success ratio, compare with NPL players brought over from Oztraylia?
Have a suspicion the Handy Prem crop on average have done better (again excluding anyone coming through Weenix ranks).
Transfer Market has Stensness and Waine joining the Phoenix on July 1st.
Has this been confirmed?

Well, he was coming off the bench.

Well, he was coming off the bench.
for the second half of the season - for the first couple of games before OPP and Callum McCowatt were playing he was one of the star players.

He was a standout for me too in last year's Western Subs away 4 - 1 Chatham Cup win over Onehunga Sports even with McCowatt, Just and Wilkins etc. on the park.
Welcome to Wellington, Luke DeVere!

? Lu-Lu-Lu-Lu-Lu-Lu-Lu Luke DeVere ?
Decent signing, a good one if he stays fit for long enough during the season.
Still need a better CB alongside Taylor if we are playing 4 along the back.
Watto in disguise?
anyone got a link to his chat with Piney this morning?
Uninspiring. Wake me up when we sign some kiwis

Doyle has announced he’s left the Phoenix on his insta.
Any word on where he is going next - overseas or back the Handa Premiership?
Would have preferred to see him have a trial rather than just leave. And see if he could do a Rufer and come back stronger and better.
When we first signed Scott, I figured it was to cover Cacace after he inevitably gets signed somewhere overseas rather than to cover Doyle's departure
DeVere's a stiff with bunged knee's another Corey Gameiro.

Once they get him running up and down the Wellington hills in pre-season training. Will quickly find out if his knees are bunged or not.

No. I've got high hopes for him. The dodgy knee's talk is going to hang around though until he proves otherwise.
hope we get a 10th of his predecessors game time..not all in one year tho.
Taylor has dodgy everything, especially those long pins of his!
Still he plays more than most!
Doyle apparently trialling with jets in july
