Nix is effectively similar to a small-medium business (20-30 office employees), however unique in that it's not a profitable model and only survives due to the philanthropic generosity of the Welnix owners. Welnix will be bleeding cash more than ever at the moment. That will turn to haemorrhaging if Fox hold back on their next payment due tomorrow.
You'd think/hope that like a lot of well run small family type firms, there is a good team spirit, people enjoy coming into work, and folks like their job. Obviously a high number of the staff (though I'm sure not all) would bond over a love of football.
If you worked in marketing, accounts payable, are the office cleaner or whoever and had a love of football it could be your dream job, at NZ's only pro football club. Didn't a few of current or past staff, start out there working as volunteers just because they loved football? Many people might give their right big toe, to work at the Nix.
Also you would think a lot of the Nix staff normally take their leave over the next few months, being the off season. Nix's regular season was due to finish April 24th. When the A League resumes, it could be that 2019/2020 season is completed and 2020/2021 season starts immediately afterwards, ie an elongated stretch when taking annual leave could be tricky for certain roles at the club.
So if you are the type of employee that's going to "grizzle" about being asked to take your annual leave over the next few weeks, or spend hours reading through leave policies etc, you are I would suggest at the wrong employer.
