I am not really sure if we have another option handy. Ufuk has not fielded Ben Eliot in ages, not sure who else could we replace Fenton with, so - in Ufuk's true style - he may work on getting the best out of Louie instead of replacing him.

It's payne's crossing I have issues with . Since the golf cart incident, he hasn't been able to put one decent ball in the box. Which prior, was one of his biggest attributes.

Basically India, especially Mumbai, is over-run and even the bubbles for the cricket are Covid infested. NZ has even banned them from even going into managed isolation things are that grim.

And when has that stopped anyone going if they wanted to go

It’s not the same situation as when people like Taylor and Steinmann (who had a contract extension and subsequent termination both not announced by the club) terminated to leave, as there was far more uncertainty around the club and league than there is now, if anything the prospect of potentially having a ‘normal’ season next season could be very appealing in wanting to stay in Wellington.
Ball also mentioned in the interview he did with Piney last year how he loved living in Petone(?) by the water (I’m not 100% on Wellington suburbs) and his kids and wife were settled as well, at primary school etc.

Nothing in life is certain, but you can only work with the information available.
People are different, Talay is not Rudan and Ball is not Taylor and because one person behaves one way doesn't mean someone completely different will behave the same way. Until proven otherwise, it's best to give people the benefit of the doubt and take what they do and say on face value.
If you go around expecting the worst of everything and everyone then life would be pretty shark.
Likely will have some small ramifications with salary cap and possible negotiations around pay.
