"Paul Ifill is 40-50% of this team"

As much as we love Paul Ifill and despite how good he is, that's just insulting.
I presume Foster hasn't watched many Nix games, he is obviously too busy watching the "real football" in Europe!

Personally I think it's a fair call, possibly slightly exaggerated but still, if any team has a player with so much talent why not base the team around him? With Greenacre injured it Ricki has been forced to use Ifill a bit differently recently, but before that Ifill was the focal point of our attack, and the one the rest of the squad looked to first IMO.
A player's significance to a team is a very difficult thing to attach a figure to, and Foster could be talking about what he means to the team in relation to how the team plays, what Ifill means to the team psychlogically, a combination of both or (most likely) he's simply filling time with halfcooked bullsh*t, but you can't deny that last season's Manchester United relied heavily on Ronaldo, or even the myriad of talent that is Barca always look to Messi when they have an off-day.
Point is, although we might not be as heavily based around one player as we were last seaosn (JUDAS), ifill is far and away our most valuable asset, and I can easily accept that Foster may be right.

Good points Oska. Only thing is that I think that while Ifill might be the creative strength of the team (and his tally of goals is also pretty handy!), with Greenacre injured the team and Ifill have struggled (until the last match when new combinations and line-ups were tried).
So I think that if we were heavily based around anyone it would be both Ifill and Greenacre.
(of course we could always look at our defensive strength too...)

Disagree! The Reds can win without Gerrard. Same thing can't be said bout Torres.
Anyway, off topic. It's all bollocks. No one player, no matter how good he is can win a game by himself. It takes the support of the players around him to help to make him look good.
E.g. someone mentioned Ronaldo's influence at MU - spit - but the scum are closer to the top of the table at the end of '09 without him than they were at the end of '08 with him.
If what Foster says was true then you would see every other team put 2 gorillas on Ifill every game and cut him off at the knees every time the ball went near him and it would be game over.
Simple fact, Foster's a numpty </rant>

Not exactly. He's loud and boisterous at times, but not 100% of what he says is crap.
I'm not talking about his Ifill comments either, which I haven't read/seen/heard yet.

Can't be true. Lochy is 80-95% of the team and, despite the well-known sporting cliches, the team can only total 100%.

Lochy is 95% of the team and if Pasty can play and get organized we'll be 110%

Agree Oska. Although putting a % figure on it is a bit stupid. It's the same in basketball, find a LeBron/Kobe and the team works around them.
