Sacked by Allardyce at Newcastle, 31 years old now. ..  a little bit injury prone, so English Clubs may stear clear. He'd still be class in the A-League. A prospect for WPFC perhaps? Or still a couple of years away from coming back to this part of the world?

Exactlly, if we can make him come to NZ then hell play for us. Hes probably based in England with his relatives and stuff and dont think hell be too keen to move.

He's been linked with the clogs (Queensland) for about 6 months now.  Probably at Marquee, or at least significant dollars.

How's my driving? - Whine here

yip, queenslad are dead set keen on him, but it sounds like he hasn't been so keen on them.  i'm sure he could find another club in the UK, especially amoungst the likes of the promoted three or reading.

I suspect he's more likely to end up in the Championship, or back up in Scotland.  He'll get good money though.  If he were to come back to Aus it would have to be as a marquee signing or it wouldn't be worth his while.

I dont think a marquee defender is the way to go. If they want to fit in the wage structure then great, but you need to spend the money on the guy at the pointy end of the attack, or someone who will create plenty of chances for others to put away.
