Will be announced tomorrow as the clubs marquee for the next two
years. Interesting the number of high-profile Aussie
returnees this year who are defenders. Popovich, Moore,
Tiatto, Milosevic. Hard News2007-07-24 23:43:32

Queensland will be a tough bunch with him and Tiatto. Wonder if they will both play Friday night?
This league is getting stronger and stronger. Will be great to
watch if the Phoenix can foot it with the big boys.

Pretty certain Moore won't play Friday. Farina is talking
about giving youngsters game time and things. Not sure about
Tiatto...
...can't stand him. Remember him from that qualifier here a few years back where he came on as a sub and got sent of. He's a dirty little prick.
Besides, Australian defenders, it's not like they are real defenders.

I remember when I was living in Aussie and we were about to play
the Socceroos. SBS interviewed Tiatto and asked what he knew about
Chris Killen (they were both at Man City). Tiatto was like "Chris
who? He's not in the 1st XI like me, so I don't know anything about
him ".

Sums up all (most) Aussie footballers. Except of course Aloisi, Ferrante, Lia, Johnson, O'Dor, Brownlie and Dodd :p

do all the other clubs have marquee players now?
I like tautologies because I like them.

At this point only the Clogs and Tards I think. Archie and
Craig Moore.
The whole Newcastle situation is very murky, Perth and Mariners don't have a marquee and I don't think Agostino is a marquee in Adelaide. Sydney as is well published have no one yet.

It's about time these guys came back to Australia and returned
a little something to the game that has treated them so well in the
past!
Just a shame that they still think they are worth the big
bucks rather than wanting to help the League grow...

yeh and aussie marquee signings shouldnt just give up after one
year eg. ned zelic and paul okon
Permalink

Ned Zelic has always been a quitter but Paul Okon has
been injury prone since he left Lazio and moved to Leeds
via Fiorentina, Middlesbrough and a loan stint at Watford and
probably should have considered retirement earlier. he was only
hanging on for the World Cup to pass! C-Diddy2007-07-25 11:38:02
